Tallahassee is a city of continued growth and economic development, and home to the campuses of Florida State University (FSU), the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), and Tallahassee Community College (TCC).What Will My Role Be?If selected for this role, you will be the Training and Design Supervisor. The position is vital to the values, mission, and vision of our organization. In this role, you will report directly to the Employee Engagement Officer, performing enterprise-wide oversight of training and development activities. The ideal candidate is a great communicator who possesses organizational development experience, project and process management knowledge, has a familiarity of process improvement strategies, can work well alongside and influence stakeholders; and is skilled in planning, designing, coordinating, implementing, and facilitating training programs including workshops.Your duties and responsibilities in this role will be to:Supervise staff, spending the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training, evaluating, planning, and directing work of employees. Provide assistance and guidance to ensure activities are completed efficiently and accurately. Develop and provide performance expectations to direct reports. Complete performance reviews to ensure productivity and cohesiveness amongst the work unit. Establish and communicate individual training plans for direct reports.Manage training management planning, implementation, and assessment to ensure consistency in business practices statewide. Coordinate with Organizational Development work units, audits, management priorities, functional work areas, and other sources to identify training requirements. Develop standardized needs assessment processes. Develop and oversee training management policies for Central Office, Districts, and Turnpike. Coordinate annual training planning and schedules. Research, develop, and implement innovative solutions to improve business operations and practices. Manage contracts for software, services, and event agreements. Maintain relationships with customers, vendors and stakeholders.Oversee the Florida Department of Transportation's Instructional Design Training Program. Develop and implement design standards and processes for developing instructor led curriculum. Design, maintain, and update classroom instruction based on training requirements. Coordinate with Central Office, Districts, and Turnpike staff to train instructors to ensure effective and consistent training delivery both virtually and in-person. Train and assist instructors and provider offices with curriculum development and delivery in accordance with design standards. Coordinate and complete periodic reviews to ensure content and delivery are effective and aligned with training requirements.Manage the Florida Department of Transportation's Leadership Development Programs. Follow established design standards for creating, updating, and delivering leadership development curriculum. Establish target audience for various leadership training programs. Design, maintain, and update leadership development instruction based on training requirements and target audience. Train and assist instructors to deliver consistent, accurate leadership programs statewide. Conduct audits to ensure consistency statewide. Coordinate and complete periodic reviews to ensure content and delivery are effective and aligned with training requirements.Maintain the Florida Department of Transportation's Computer Based Training (CBT) programs. Develop and implement design standards and processes for developing online curriculum. Coordinate the stakeholders and provider offices to publish and disseminate curriculum. Train and assist instructors and provider offices with curriculum development in accordance with design standards. Coordinate and complete periodic reviews to ensure content and delivery are effective and aligned with training requirements.Oversee administration of the Florida Department of Transportation's Learning Management System (LMS). Assist in identifying and developing useful reports. Ensure system is meeting the needs of internal and external users. Coordinate the dissemination of annual training completion reports to internal and external customers. Support other required training functions. Prepare for and provide the Florida Department of Transportation's training programs. Assist as a facilitator for training programs, meetings, and workshops. Produce, organize, and assemble workshop and training materials. Coordinate training resources and implementing training.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of theories and practices of effective supervision, management, and leadership.
