Purpose:
This position oversees communication and marketing efforts using various design and publication platforms to educate, inform, and promote the work of Lincoln University College of Agriculture, Human and Environmental Sciences (LUCAHES). This position is responsible for content strategy and assigning work to the Communications team while ensuring Lincoln University Brand Guide compliance. This position also actively engages in community involvement and networking to build relationships that will grow outreach and impact. This is a full-time fully benefit-eligible position.
Essential Job Functions:
* Approves visual and written content for fact sheets, guide sheets, flyers, social media posts, newsletters, invitations, agendas, event programs, and other assets.* Develop and maintain editorial calendar and content project plans, supporting a content strategy that is in line with the mission and objectives of LUCAEHS.* Collaborates with agencies and community partners to extend outreach and maximize reach and effectiveness.* Oversees website and social media accounts. Uses appropriate metrics and analytical tools to maximize reach and effectiveness.* Manages organizational software and assignment collection tools.* Provides coaching to the Communications team and identifies training opportunities.* Serves as the liaison between CAEHS and UMR.* Keeps up with current industry trends and topics to ensure effective communication.* Supports special assigned projects and events as needed.* Comply with all federal, state, and university reporting requirements.* Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Technical and Communication Skills:
* Strong attention to detail.* Ability to work with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Adobe Suite, and relevant design programs.* Proficiency with DSLR camera and basic editing software with ability to maintain equipment and upload images to cloud and group sharing platforms.* Strong knowledge using office equipment such as printer, scanner, and telephone.* Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
* A valid driver's license is required.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field, graphic design, English, or communication.* Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.* Familiar with the rules of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA style) and Associated Press (AP style).
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.* Prolonged periods of standing and walking.* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.* The position involves occasional travel and evening or weekend work.
