We're seeking a dynamic and versatile communications professional to lead our strategic communications, PR, and content initiatives at Beyond Type 1, an organization changing what it means to live with diabetes. This role combines high-level communications strategy with hands-on content development, requiring a unique blend of strategic thinking and creative execution.Reports to: SVP of MarketingKey Responsibilities:Communications & PR StrategyDevelop and implement comprehensive communications and PR strategies that elevate Beyond Type 1's brand and market positioningCreate and refine corporate messaging architecture and materials to align with organizational milestones and initiativesCraft compelling narratives that showcase our work, community impact, and the lived experiences of individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetesDevelop strategies to effectively communicate the impact of our work, using data and storytelling to create awareness and drive engagementIdentify and amplify uplifting stories from within our community to increase understanding of the challenges faced by those living with diabetesLead crisis communications efforts, serving as the primary point of contact for incident managementIdentify and secure top-tier media coverage, awards, and speaking engagementsCollaborate with PR agencies to maximize impact and resultsContent StrategyLead the development of a sophisticated, comprehensive content strategy that spans all digital channelsSpearhead cross-functional team collaboration to align on content strategy, fostering a culture of creativity and innovationIdentify and capitalize on timely events and relevant industry topics to inform content creationBring a fresh, creative perspective to content strategy development, introducing new ideas and approachesGuide the team in creating engaging, multi-format content (articles, videos, infographics, etc.) aligned with organizational goals and target audiencesWhile not primarily responsible for content creation, be prepared to contribute high-quality writing when neededAnalyze content performance across channels and optimize strategies based on data-driven insightsStay abreast of digital content trends and best practices, continuously evolving our approach for maximum impactThought LeadershipIdentify key themes and topics for thought leadership initiativesCollaborate with subject matter experts and executives to develop distinctive narrativesSecure opportunities for executive visibility in industry publications and eventsDevelop innovative approaches to showcase the organization's impact through data-driven narratives and compelling storytellingCreate a framework for identifying, collecting, and sharing powerful stories from the type 1 and type 2 diabetes communitiesEnsure that community voices are authentically represented in all communications effortsDevelop and execute internal communications plans to keep staff, Board of Directors, partners, and partners informedLead the creation of "corporate momentum" reports and the organization's Annual ReportEnsure consistent messaging across all internal and external communicationsQualifications:8+ years of experience in external communications (PR, corporate communications, public affairs, or media relations)Proven track record in developing sophisticated communication strategies for PR coverage and strategic narrative developmentDeep expertise in content marketing and cross-channel multimedia content productionExperience in developing corporate messaging architecture and aligning communications with brand initiativesDemonstrated ability to translate complex impact data into compelling narrativesStrong understanding of community-centric storytelling and its role in awareness campaignsExceptional writing and storytelling skills across various formats and channelsStrong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilitiesExperience in
