About Us:

Action Wellness (ActionAids) was established in 1986 by a group of volunteers to help people with HIV. Today, Action Wellness continues its legacy of providing a full range of social services to help our clients and families in the Greater Philadelphia area with HIV, substance use disorders and other chronic illnesses. Our staff and volunteers are committed to providing a range of social services to help our clients achieve physical, emotional, and economic wellness.

Position Summary:

The Marketing Communications Associate will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to enhance the visibility and impact of Action Wellness. This role is essential in advancing our mission by effectively conveying our story, achievements, and the importance of our work to a broad audience.

Key Responsibilities:Strategy Development:

Develop and implement a multi-dimensional marketing plan including communications strategies aligned with Action Wellness’ goals.Identify and target key audiences, including donors, volunteers, other constituent groups and the general public.

Content Creation:

Oversee the creation of engaging content across various platforms, including press releases, newsletters, annual reports, social media posts, blogs, and website updates.Ensure all marketing and communications materials are consistent with Action Wellness’ brand and messaging.

Media Relations:

Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists.Draft and distribute press releases, respond to media inquiries, and arrange interviews with key stakeholders.

Digital and Social Media:

Manage Action Wellness's digital presence, including website maintenance and social media channels.Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase engagement and outreach.

Internal Communications:

Facilitate effective communication within Action Wellness to ensure all staff and volunteers are informed and engaged.Support internal events and initiatives through strategic communications.

Public Relations and Outreach:

Represent Action Wellness at public events, conferences, and other forums.Develop outreach materials and presentations to support fundraising and program activities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.At least five years’ experience in a marketing and /or communications role.Individuals with both for profit and non-profit business experience are encouraged to apply.Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management.Experience with media relations and public speaking.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Passion for Action Wellness’ mission.Why Work at Action Wellness
