SC&A, Inc., is seeking a professional editor (1099 to start; potential for full time employment). This is a remote (work from home) position.Responsibilities+ Perform substantive and copy edit engineering and scientific documents under tight deadlines+ Apply styles and other advanced formatting in Microsoft Word+ Ensure documents adhere to client style guides+ Ensure that final deliverables are free of grammar, syntax, and spelling errors; express ideas clearly; and conform to specified stylesMinimum Qualifications+ At least 5 years of experience substantively editing engineering and scientific documents+ Experience applying editing style guides, such as the Government Publishing Office Style Manual and Chicago Manual of Style, and ability to apply different style guides to different projects+ Expert skills in Microsoft Word+ Superb attention to detail+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university+ U.S. citizen able to obtain a security clearance; must be located in the United StatesSelected applicants will complete a phone screening interview and may be asked to complete a 2-hour editing assessment.SC&A does not accept third-party applications or agency inquiries.
