As the Sr Director of Design, you will lead the creative vision and design direction for our ready-to-wear, and accessories collections. Your role is pivotal in developing cohesive and innovative designs that resonate with our target market, set trends, and elevate our brand's positioning in the market. You will inspire and lead the design team to deliver concepts that align with our brand's aesthetic, ensuring excellence in every aspect of product development from concept to final production.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire the design team to develop creative concepts, themes, and collections that reflect the Good American brand's aesthetic and resonate with the target market.Lead and provide mentorship for Designers, Assistant Designers, Associate Designers, and interns to support their professional growth and development.Research fashion trends, market insights, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions and foster innovation in product offerings.Mentor and provide inspirational leadership to designers, fostering creativity, skill development, and a collaborative culture within the design team.Oversee the design process from concept development to final product, ensuring adherence to quality, fit, and aesthetic standards.Manage the creation of mood boards, sketches, technical drawings, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and facilitate the sampling and production processes.Review and approve samples, prototypes, and final products to ensure they meet design specifications, quality standards, and brand guidelines.Collaborate closely with merchandising, marketing, and production teams to align on design concepts, timelines, and product development strategies.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage the designer calendar and ensure timely execution of design processes.Partner with Merchandising and Pre-production teams to maintain cost targets and oversee material selections and garment construction.Collaborate with Patternmakers, Development, and Technical Designers to ensure accurate garment construction and fit during fittings and production.Attend fabric selections, print reviews, trade shows, and meetings with vendors to research new fabrics, trims, and technologies.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.10+ years of experience in fashion design, with a focus on ready-to-wear, denim, and shoes.Proven track record of success as a creative leader in a design role within the apparel industry.Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles, creativity, and innovation.Excellent understanding of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.Proficiency in design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.Passion for fashion, creativity, and trend forecasting.

Please note that this role requires to be onsite four days a week.
