The Practice Director (PD) is a critical member of our leadership team and a key contributor to our growth strategy. It is a role responsible for providing strategic direction, driving profitable growth, ensuring delivery excellence, and cultivating an environment where consultants thrive within their national community of practice. A Practice Director has a solution mindset, possesses a business-orientation with a focus on optimizing profitability, a passion for building great teams and an obsession with client and consultant success. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, creative thinker, fast learner, and detail-oriented operator. The Practice Director is an ambassador for the firm and embodiment of Unify values. The Practice Director reports directly to the General Manager while taking guidance on strategy and standards from the Solution Managing Director.

Responsibilities

Growth Focus

• Support and contribute to account growth strategies for assigned account(s) by identifying target clients, business needs, and opportunities that align with Unify' s capabilities.

• Help sell consulting services to clients by participating directly in client conversations and/or supporting with subject matter expertise, consultant/client (C2) meeting preparation, proposal content, and sales collateral.

Practice Strategy

• Build and apply knowledge of the market and trends impacting our clients' businesses to provide value to clients and grow Unify' s business.

• Develop strategies for supplying talent for consulting opportunities and delivery with input from Solution Managing Directors

• Define and up-level the practice's capabilities, innovating and elevating the firm's consulting and solution delivery capabilities.

• Build and implement a consultanttalent development roadmap.

• Build and foster a high-performing and diverse practice leadership team.

Consultant Success

• Lead a Community of Practice that encourages consultant engagement and development through learning, skill enhancement and collaborative activities.

• Provide guidance and leadership to the Practice's Practice Managers on Community of Practice-building and consultant engagement activities.

• Define and implement strategies to improve consultant performance, engagement, career development, success, and retention.

• Coach and mentor consultants in expertise related to the Practice's capabilities and consulting excellence.

• Support to educate/coach others with a focus on skills related to the practice.

Practice Operations

• Proactively communicate the practice's consultant's availability for projects through supply/demand alignment

• Support consultant to engagement matchmaking activities to ensure profitable talent alignment occurs across the practice.

• Support practice-wide engagement renewals, extensions, and expansion efforts.

• Set Talent Acquisition priorities (skills, background, etc.) and inspire recruits to join the practice.

Community of Practice

• Lead and grow a community of practice that engages consultants with Unify and enhances consultant skillsets in practice capabilities.

• Assess consultant development needs and create and implement a roadmap of training requirements and continuous learning.

• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, curiosity, quality, and radical accountability.

• Support cultivating practice stories, case studies, credentials, and communications as collateral for use with clients.

Engagement Leadership & Delivery Quality

• Apply subject matter expertise to support selling consulting engagements across our core capabilities.

• Lead from the front through excellent client delivery as a billable leader (100% utilized)

• Set capability expectations in collaboration with Solution leadership.

• Farm and advance intel among consultants for account growth and expansion

• Advance and remediate individual performance escalations as it relates to practice capabilities.

• Collect performance feedback from multiple sources and action accordingly.

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to lead, partner and work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, despite ambiguity and no formal authority (required)

• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the relevant practice area (required). Functional expertise in the following areas pertaining to our Marketing Practice: Marketing strategy; Insights; Customer journey and experience; Product marketing management; Marketing BOM & content creation; Customer segmentation, targeting and messaging; Marketing metrics and dashboarding; Integrated MarCom; Distribution & partner programs.

• Possess polished business writing and presentation skills (required)

• Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively with executives and diverse audiences (required)

• Ability to conduct business with transparency and integrity (required)

• Business acumen and understanding of industries, domains and use cases to inform and direct the practice specific work.

• Proven track record of delivering, managing and growing consulting services or related business unit/function.

• Must have excellent client facing skills including communication, presentation, and relationship management capabilities.

• Proven people leader with experience managing and mentoring a team to reach its full potential.

• 5+ year experience as a people manager

• 10+ years of experience in consulting with a focus on providing business value (preferred)

• 10+ years leading concurrent projects and managing senior client relationships (preferred)

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)

Travel Requirements:

Minimal, as business needs require.

$157,000 - $236,000 a year
