cientific Communications & Training to their team (REMOTE)

!The successful candidate will join a diverse team of scientists, clinical researchers, and medical professionals to drive and deliver translational and medical communication and education strategies in support of their clinical stage vaccine candidate. Will lead thedevelopment and implementation of global scientific/medical communications strategies, including educational and publication initiatives, in alignment with corporate strategies. The role requires a high level of collaboration with Translational, Medical and Government Affairs, Clinical Development, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance as well as the hands-on attitude necessary to refine and build scientific/medical communication resources and materials, including slide decks, training modules, medical symposia, medical booth materials, and digital education resources. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Lead the development and maintenance of timely and impactful global scientific/medical communication tactics

to enhance engagement, education, and disease awareness

(E.g., scientific communication platform, social media content and blogs, slide content, FAQs, etc.)

Identify and engage internal and external subject matter experts and agencies in the development, review and implementation of scientific/medical communication tactics and content

Plan, develop, and implement scientific/medical content for congress communication activities (E.g., congress medical booth educational materials, pamphlets, logistics, and symposia planning)

Provide sound counseling and coaching to cross-functional colleagues with regard to effective communications, storytelling, slide design, and alignment of key messages

Establish strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders internally (E.g., clinical, medical, translational medicine, compliance) and externally (E.g., opinion leaders, patient advocacy groups, professional societies)

Support scientific/medical intelligence gathering at relevant congresses, including pre- and post-congress summaries of data presented

Lead the strategic design, development, and implementation of scientific/medical content and educational training strategies for new hire, advanced, and ongoing training curricula across the organization.

Update training processes and omnichannel-based frameworks with innovative educational materials aligned with scientific communication platform key messages (E.g., training modules, slide decks, virtual learning, videos, quick reference materials, etc.)

Maintain a "single platform" approach to house all scientific/medical content, including slide decks approved for external use

Manage scientific/medical communication agencies, cross-functional SMEs, and contractual aspects of assigned education and communication projects

Lead timely execution of publication plans to produce high quality, impactful deliverables (E.g., abstracts, posters, slide decks, manuscripts)

Ensure compliant and transparent review processes are followed with continual improvement

Requirements:

Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) in life sciences/medical/clinical field

7-10 years of relevant experience in a multinational biopharmaceutical company or at a global medical communications agency

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role crafting scientific/medical communications strategy and educational content/programs, backed up by deep understanding of the regulatory environment, compliance framework, and perspectives of key internal and external stakeholders such as physicians, payers, and patients

Established track-record of delivering impactful, strategic scientific/medical communications and proactive stakeholder management

Strong experience in strategic publication planning (including scientific/medical communication platforms), tactical publication planning and implementation, and the planning and development of scientific/medical educational materials

Expertise in media relations, social media, employee and leader communications, change management, and event planning.

Experience creating and translating scientific/medical content and illustrations for a broad range of audiences

Experience developing digital content and/or digital content strategy highly desired

Experience planning and implementing peer-to-peer engagements (E.g., workshops for the planning and development of scientific publications or scientific/medical education materials, including Advisory Boards)

Experience working closely with KOLs, cross-functional stakeholders, communication agencies, and publication authors

General working knowledge of infectious diseases, epidemiology, and clinical trial efficacy, safety, immunogenicity topics

Proven capability to influence and counsel senior leaders and teams across functions and geographical boundaries.

Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and persuasively articulate complex concepts, distill key information, and contextualize clinical data for translation to physicians, patients and payers

Ability to interpret and coordinate highly sophisticated scientific data, including experience reviewing pre-clinical and clinical trial data

Ability to lead teams, including medical publications agencies to plan, write and develop abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, slide decks and content for scientific and educational programs

OTHER:

Ability to travel up to 10-25% of the time and frequently on short notice.

Some international travel may be required.
