About The Role:

This exciting role in our New York City Office will be responsible for driving corporate communications strategy and execution for the Northeast region of a Fortune 500 company. The Communications Director serves the entire breadth of communications needs, with an emphasis on PR, internal/executive communications and social media training. The ideal candidate is a proactive networker who regularly engages with leaders, brokerage professionals, reporters and industry event organizers.

Candidates should be full of ideas and energy—able to take a variety of information, industry inputs, data and research content and create compelling storylines that will resonate with news media and internal audiences. In addition, the ideal candidate should be an experienced internal communicator capable of directly supporting the Regional President and local leadership with both internal and external executive messages (memos, videos, blog posts, presentations, talking points, etc.).

Commercial real estate industry knowledge is a plus. The position is based in New York City and requires four days in the office per week. The position reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications.

This job is part of the Communications job function. They are responsible for developing internal and external communications that are related to organizational values, strategy, performance, and others.

What You'll Do:

Provide internal and external communications strategy for the Northeast markets with a direct focus on New York City, including providing sound, executive communications counsel and support to regional leadership.

Champion strong and lasting reporter relationships across relevant media targets and maintain ongoing dialogue that leads to opportunities for our organization and our professionals.

Cultivate and support national media opportunities given proximity to national reporters located in New York. Partner with Occupier and Investor national media relations lead on a variety of press activities (reports, events, interviews).

Lead, manage and mentor a small team of Communications professionals representing the Northeast Region. Oversee management of small boutique PR agency.

Develop and implement a solid and measurable PR strategy that aligns with business goals.

Develop and drive a content strategy that establishes CBRE as an influencer in key conversations on relevant social media channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn. Train sales professionals on how to effectively use social media to support their business goals.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

Ability to develop critical communication plans and excellently produced written communication.

Able to engage with senior leadership and support a variety of executive communications needs. Able to facilitate relationships and communication with brokers and leadership and collaborate with other internal departments.

Ability to collaborate up, down and across the organization. Can be an influencer within team and across departments to build consensus and motivate others. “Gets things done” but can also contribute to building and communicating long-term vision.

Able to comprehend, analyze and interpret market information and situations to create actionable ideas that positively impact the organization and its professionals.

Solid organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills that engage people across staff and departments and allow projects to move forward based on priorities and deadlines.

Strong attention to detail, including strong proofreading capabilities and interest in achieving the highest quality deliverables and outcomes possible.

Service-oriented and responsive. Works well under deadlines. Knows how to prioritize, keep projects running smoothly and manage the expectations of everyone involved.

New York City Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Corporate Communications Director position is $160,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $210,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
