Why us, why now?

The Marketing and Communications Specialist supports the AAMC Services Marketing and Communications teams, contributing to and executing strategies to raise and maintain awareness of the value of AAMC Services. Reporting to the Senior Director, Learner & Services Communications, this person is expected to work with the Services Marketing and Communications teams to develop materials (or revise existing materials) including web copy, digital ad copy, newsletters, social media content, presentation slides/graphics, infographics, brochures, and other Services work products as needed. Works with program specialists and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy/timeliness and finalizes work products in accordance with Services Marketing and Communications formats.

How will you make an impact?

Multi-Channel Content Creation

Create, edit, and distribute a variety of Services Marketing and Communications projects, including electronic communications, web content, social media content, marketing collateral, multimedia projects, reports, presentations and other materials.Support as directed, researching and writing of Services digital content strategy/social media activities.Stay up-to-date on all communications platforms (CMS, social media, email, Canva, etc.)

Team Organization and Support

Establish, document, implement and model AAMC Services best practices to ensure positive work results within the unit and with AAMC communications. Modify and update best practices as needed.Coordinates Marketing and Communication team calendars, schedules, reports, and webinar logistics for in-person events and webinars for project/program teams as needed. Completes a variety of assigned projects for work unit and if needed fulfill assigned role on project team(s) for broader Services, marketing, and communications projects.Build and continuously expand knowledge in Services units' offerings.

Data Collection and Continuous Improvement

Collect and organize key communications analytics (web, email, meeting attendance, surveys, etc.).Build or collect reports based on metrics related to various communications platforms (web, email, webinars, etc.) to analyze and provide recommendations if needed.Develop usable and insightful reports and data summaries; and support data-informed strategies for the Service Communications team re: improving communications.Use Google Analytics tools and other digital content/social media tools (such as Hootsuite) to produce monthly reports to be shared with the various Services Business units to inform their activities.What you'll bring to the role

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, design, digital communications, literature, or a related field1-3 years of experience in a communications or marketing-related discipline, specifically in engaging effectively with target audiences, managing delivery of content across platforms, and maintaining brand consistency.Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented non-profit or business environment.Ability to adjust priorities, work independently, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.Knowledge of AP Style, previous writing experience, and an understanding of evolving marketing and communications methods, tools, and platforms.Experience with Microsoft Office products and tools.Experience with website content management. Experience with Drupal, Canva, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Hootsuite is a plus.Critical thinking skills.Ability to thrive in and enjoy a complex, fast-paced work environment is very important.

Remote Work Eligibility

This position is eligible for remote work in the contiguous US

Compensation Grade Range and Mid-PointGrade Range:$60,000.00 - $98,900.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$79,500.00

The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.

If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
