Overview

The Nonprofit Marketing Communications Manager is an individual contributor role that is responsible for the management of several areas that support our efforts to build the HSSV brand, expand our reach in the community, attract supporters, and enhance the visibility of our organization. The role oversees Mutual Rescue program marketing, including managing the website and social media as well as HSSV community events. This is a highly collaborative role that reaches across all departments and the ideal individual is outcome-oriented, passionate about marketing excellence, and possesses strong leadership skills. The ability to innovate, drive change, and work at both a strategic and operational level is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

Partner with the Director, Marketing Communications to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to leverage communications and events as part of the overall marketing strategy to reach and engage target audiences with consistent messaging and branding across all channels.Develop the Mutual Rescue integrated marketing and communications strategy to reach and engage target audiences. Create, execute, test, and refine across digital, social media, email, print, promotions, and events to increase leads, acquisitions, and conversions.Manage the Mutual Rescue website and ensure effective positioning and promotion of strategic priorities and programs through inspiring visuals and easy-to-understand content that drives engagement and action; includes content review and handling technical resolutions.Develop monthly campaign metrics reports (e.g., web, email, social media, CRM, earned media, etc.) and provide feedback on improving performance for Mutual Rescue assets.Build the HSSV brand by executing on community events that increase awareness of HSSV programs and impact.Work with the Creative Services Specialist to maintain all branding guidelines (HSSV and Mutual Rescue), capture assets, stories, and photos, and assist with asset management as needed.Research and stay current on the latest digital marketing trends and best practices in general and within the animal welfare/non-profit space.Cultivate a culture of innovation that strives to achieve better results every day through creativity and experimenting with different visual mediums.Build processes and tools that enable HSSV to be a storytelling machine that inspires donors and raises awareness of the organization and Mutual Rescue mission-driven impact.Promote cross-collaboration and a "service culture" within the Marketing team and help facilitate projects across departments that are related to marketing and communications.Support Director, Marketing Communications with public relations efforts.Other duties may be assigned as needed.Requirements

Proven marketing experience at both the strategic and operational level, preferably some experience in a non-profit or animal welfare organization.Must be a subject matter expert with hands-on experience in offline and digital marketing.Experience directly creating and producing integrated multi-channel digital campaigns and advertising/promotion on social platforms (e.g., Facebook/Instagram ads and targeting).Proven hands-on ability with digital analytics, including assessing progress toward objectives and setting up funnel conversion goals and metrics (e.g,. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager/Webmaster Tools, and Google Ads).Experience directly handling website management; WordPress, or Drupal a plus.Fundamental understanding of the importance of branding and how to grow a brand.Coordinating event experience, a plus.Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills (with diverse internal and external audiences), including excellent written and verbal communication skills.In-house photography and video production experience a plus.Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed goals. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong collaboration skills are essential.Successful track record with project management experience and tools.Expertise in finding and managing outstanding vendors who augment organizational capabilities, (e.g., writers, photographers, and public relations firms).

Work Days and HoursPrimarily day schedule Monday-Friday and is required to participate in Marketing events throughout the year that may be on evenings and/or weekends.
