The MarTech Platforms group is an enterprise team that empowers Vanguard’s marketing divisions to reach their audiences in more meaningful and relevant ways, driving incremental business value with personalized, data-driven, contextually relevant experiences. The Senior Product Owner is a key role responsible for driving MarTech transformation through the adoption of sales enablement technologies, including sales-focused content management (e.g., Seismic, Highspot) and marketing automation (e.g., Marketo, Pardot). The Senior Product Owner understands how marketing technologies intersect with CRM systems to drive quality leads and higher conversion. This role works closely with marketing leaders across divisions to assess customer needs, business goals, and use cases, for Vanguard’s B2C and B2B businesses. The Senior Product Owner is responsible envisioning the art of the possible, creating a multi-year roadmap, and working with Scrum Leads and MarTech engineers as part of an Agile/Scrum-based team to bring the product vision to life.

In this role, you will:

Envision the future of sales enablement at Vanguard.

Work with divisional marketing leaders to understand desired business outcomes, key use cases, and product requirements.

Communicate future-state capabilities through whitepapers, presentations, and a multi-year roadmap.

Be the advocate for the end customer, leveraging Human-Centered Design techniques to inform product requirements.

Focus on delivering business outcomes, like improving customer acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention.

Work with Agile teams to develop a backlog of user stories.

Act as Product Owner in cross-functional Scrum teams, helping drive implementation.

Stay current on industry trends, and introduce new technologies, practices, and viewpoints to Vanguard.

Lead technical product management activities for multiple technical products, or one strategic technical product. Participate in the design and continuous improvement of the technical solution.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create best practices that drive significant change to the client experience.

Coach technical product teams towards best practices and learnings. Ensure delivery of messaging, communication, and customer outreach, as necessary.

Partner with stakeholders to resolve production and implementation issues in a timely manner, and support/drive escalations where required to enable rapid delivery.

Lead the planning, development, and implementation of new technical products. Define and analyze technical markets, developing detailed product features and requirements, and developing implementation plans.

Employ a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience.

Participate in and provide recommendations for ongoing business planning and departmental prioritization activities.

Participate in the team’s engineering practices in development, continuous integration, and automated deployment.

Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it Takes:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred. Minimum of five years related work experience.

Two years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects preferred.

Experience as a product manager, project manager, or platform configurator with some of the following technologies: sales-focused content management (e.g., Seismic, Highspot), marketing automation (e.g., Marketo, Pardot), and/or CRM (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce). Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) is a plus (e.g., Amperity, Adobe Experience Platform, Segment).

Experience with any of the tools in the Adobe Experience Cloud is a plus.

Some experience working in an Agile environment is required.

Strong understanding of the MarTech ecosystem, and common marketing use cases.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
