The Mechanical Designer holds a key position in the design and advancement of commercial integration initiatives for our Sex Identification Systems for the global poultry industry. This vacancy is to be filled with a highly creative, seasoned, hands-on designer/engineer, who will lead/participate in commercial integration design planning for our Sex Identification Systems, including idea generation, process layout designs, conveyance design, feasibility analysis, value assessment, field application engineering and the management of such commercial integration execution.

Qualifications:

Apply strong computer-aided design knowledge to deliver engineered-to-order system-level automation solutions.Interact with application engineers, sales/marketing, and customers to identify mechanical requirements to integrate automated poultry systems into existing automation systems.Travel to customer facilities during site discovery visits to capture existing hatchery layout and process flow. Review potential layout solutions on-site with customers.Produce 2D concept layout drawings for customer approval.Design motion-based electromechanical components and assemblies.Deliver component, assembly, and site installation level drawings accurately and on time.Participate in team design reviews.Work interactively with R&D Engineering to deliver system-level automation customizations.Work interactively with manufacturing to provide guidance for assembly.Work interactively with field installation and support staff to deliver timely resolution of field technical issues.Work interactively with electromechanical technicians to test customized automation solutions.Requirements

Education:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferredAssociates degree in CAD/Engineering is requiredExperience and Certifications

Minimum 5 years of experience with 3D Modeling & 2D Drafting per ASME-Y14.100.Experience in designing components and assemblies in Solidworks.Experience in producing 2D equipment layouts using Draftsight/AutoCAD.Experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Experience designing sheet metal components, machined parts, and welded assemblies.Experience developing motion-based electro-mechanical sub-systems.Experience applying and/or using structural finite element analysis.Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

Proficient in designing parts and assemblies in SolidWorks CAD platform.Proficient in producing 2D CAD layout drawings in DraftSight/AutoCAD.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Ability to work independently within a team environment.
