This role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite in Lake Orion, Michigan. We are not considering visa sponsorship for this position.

JOB SUMMARY

Design and develop Isuzu's suite of web properties related to IGSS sales and service. Collaborate with team members to design features, review code and resolve problems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Front-end development - Create and maintain testable user-friendly web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React. Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.

Back-end development - Develop and maintain server-side logic using languages such as Laravel, PHP, or Node.js. Design and implement RESTful APIs and services.

Database development - Design, develop, and optimize database schemas using MySQL or MongoDB databases. Ensure data integrity, security, and performance.

DevOps - Manage cloud infrastructure and deployment processes using tools like AWS, Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes. Assist with automated deployment pipelines and ensure adherence to CI/CD practices.

System Architecture - Collaborate with team members to design scalable and maintainable system architectures. Align application architecture with business goals and requirements.

Code review and Testing - Conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to best practices. Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and perform manual testing when needed.

Document and Knowledge Sharing - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system designs. Mentor junior developers and share knowledge through code reviews, and pair programming.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Manager, Web DevelopmentDirect reports: N/AEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering preferred.At least 2-4 years of experience shipping production code to a cloud-based platform.Experience working in both backend and frontend environments.KNOWLEDGE

Required:2-4 years of production-level experience with PHP, particularly using the Laravel framework.2-4 years of production-level experience with Javascript, particularly using the React framework.Strong knowledge of relational databases (such as MySQL) and NoSQL databases (such as Mongo).Experience with using Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).Experience with using software development tools (e.g., Git, Jira).Experience with local testing in Docker.Preferred:Experience working with infrastructure in a cloud platform like Azure, AWS or GCP.Optional:Some experience with CI/CD devops (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes).SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience working as part of a team, with the ability to complete tasks independently.Strong analytical skills - having the desire to find the root of a problem before attempting to solve it.Methodical and thorough - ensure that all code written is thoroughly tested before shipped.Ability to context switch from backend to frontend - managing multiple projects at one time.Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

This is primarily a sedentary position in a remote or controlled office environment which requires occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports or records. Rare instance requiring lifting of light objects (5 to 25 lbs.)

Pay scale for this position is between $45,662 to $54,794. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
