What you’ll do

As a Software Developer with UI focus in Data Management at SAS, you will identify and modernize infrastructure and other potential improvements through public and private cloud services, leveraging various technologies, including developing complex, highly available services and varied solution interaction engineering.

As a UI Software Developer, you will:

Develop software with browser-based technologies and REST services using cloud native services and SAS’s internal API’s as part of the Data Governance initiatives.

Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.

Solve problems independently and seek guidance/collaboration when needed.

Actively involve other project stakeholders (e.g., managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.

Participate in project scoping and scheduling: tracking progress of individual tasks and alerting stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task.

Ensure the quality of the code you write through the development of automated tests (unit, performance, user interface) and work closely with testing by providing feedback on the test plan and communicate when updates to the plan should be made to cover code changes related to enhancements, redesigns and/or bug fixes.

Advocate for the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement throughout the software lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field or equivalent additional training/experience

0-2 years of relevant full-time experience

Experience in JavaScript and a modern frontend framework such as React or Angular

Some experience with programming languages, such as: Java, Javascript, Python, or Go

Experience with industry tools such as Postman, Docker, or Git

Familiarity with agile software development

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Experience creating React components and modifying existing React web UI’s.

Experience with Typescript.

Experience with web styling CSS, SCSS.

Experience with unit testing in React using Jest.

Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Delivery tools such as Git/Gerrit/Jenkins, Github, Gitlab, or similar.

Familiarity with containerization, cloud architectures, and at least one major cloud provider technologies.
