This role involves digital marketing, internal communications, and strategically supports our business development, sales, and recruiting teams. You will be responsible for various initiatives, including content creation, social media campaigns, and storytelling, all while contributing to MAREK's overall growth and success.

What you will do
Digital Marketing:
Social Media and Website ManagementYou will create high-quality bilingual digital content and campaigns. Your goal will be to thoughtfully engage business-to- business customers, as well as employees and potential employees to support recruiting initiatives. Your input will be critical in identifying the best social media channels to reach each audience and developing a new website to strengthen MAREK's digital presence.
Digital Marketing includes:• Content creation and coordination• Social media and website management and reporting
Internal CommunicationsYou will develop and manage bilingual messaging and two-way communication to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with company values and goals. Your partnership with division leaders, field leaders, HR, Safety, and employees will fuel approaches and campaigns that foster a positive work environment, recognize people and high performance, and maintain effective communication channels.
Internal Communications includes:• Promote word of mouth• Text, email, and social media• Newsletter• Other channels as appropriate
Storytelling and Graphic DesignThis position plays a significant role for the team by running point on visual storytelling and graphic design across all content to ensure any marketing communication materials resonate with both internal and external customers.
Storytelling and Graphic Design includes:• Design, look, and feel of materials and/or templates• Support employee brand ambassadors in spreading the word• Visual appeal of online and/or digital content• Video and photography
Backup Support for Sales CollateralYou will work closely with the marketing communications lead to understand priorities, strategies, and goals and act as a reliable backup to ensure continuity of work across the team. This could include providing support on client-facing materials which effectively communicate MAREK's value proposition and aid in business development and sales efforts.
Backup Support includes:• Customer pre-qualifications• Technical proposals and presentations• Submissions for awards and other industry recognition
Where will you workThe Marketing Communications team offers a hybrid work environment, with some days spent working from home and others from the office or a job site. Our team currently works out of Houston (HQ). We are also open to full-time in-person for this role. Other markets include Atlanta, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Harlingen, Nashville, and San Antonio.
What you bring to the teamEducation• Relevant marketing education or equivalent experience, such as a marketing or communication related certification, or some college or a degreeExperience• 3+ years of progressive experience in marketing communication, including extensive social media experience• Previous experience working in the architecture, engineering, or construction industries and/or with bilingual (English-Spanish) communications is a plus
Skills• Strong listening, problem-solving, and customer service skills• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills• Team player with the ability to interact professionally both internally (employees in a variety of roles) and externally (clients)• Ability to work independently, with a sense of urgency, and meet deadlines• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus• Skilled in working across multiple social media channels to reach different target audiences, ability to measure social media presence and performance• Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Canva, or similar design technology; strong graphic design sensibility• Some knowledge of video production techniques and editing software to create video content• Solid project management, coordination, and organizational capability• Plugged into marketing, communications, and media trends• Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point)
Working Conditions• Able to work a varied schedule to complete projects and meet deadlines in response to changing demands• Able to work in fast paced environment with daily pressure to meet deadlines• Able to perform work indoors in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office, or private office• Able to travel to various MAREK offices and construction jobsites
Physical Conditions• Able to communicate verbally, in a clear manner• Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone• Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time creating, composing, and reviewing marketing materials• Able to operate office or marketing equipment, including telephone, mobile phone, copier, scanner, camera, and video camera• Able to access and navigate construction jobsites periodically; this can include climbing stairs and/or ladders
