Cambridge Terahertz is a rapidly growing, venture-backed semiconductor company spun out of MIT. Recently featured in MIT News and Techcrunch, the company's novel Terahertz imaging technology enables a wide range of impactful use cases. We're already demonstrated hardware prototypes with landmark performance in solid-state THz radar imaging. A true white space technology on the frontier of imaging technology, we are developing an extensible imaging platform to save and improve lives across broad swaths of society. Our world-class team includes some of the best minds in RF and THz and is passionate, fast-paced and values taking on the most difficult technical challenges. We foster a creative culture that focuses on the team with strong values on self-growth and learning, and using technology to enrich lives. This is an excellent and unique opportunity for an engineer who is seeking a challenging and dynamic role in a fast-paced startup environment and the opportunity to learn how businesses are formed.ResponsibilitiesCambridge Terahertz is hiring for a full-time role in RF/mm-wave IC design in the Bay Area (hybrid OK on case-by-case basis). As one of the company's first hires, the candidate will work closely with the founding and leadership team to develop the company's core product, a THz radar imaging chipset in III/V and/or deep submicron CMOS technologies. Early work will include conceptual, feasibility and architectural studies with a focus on phased array radar systems, and subsequent implementation of such systems. During implementation, the candidate will be responsible for schematic and layout design of mmW and THz circuits such as phase shifters, antennas, mixers, amplifiers and frequency multipliers in CMOS and/or III/V compound semiconductor technologies. They will be responsible for DRC and LVS and designing electromagnetic structures such as on-chip antennas, and involved in hardware testing activities.Qualifications- 3+ years of design experience in RFIC design and related EDA/Simulation tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys, Ansys HFSS, Calibre)- Tapeout experience of CMOS and/or III/V mmW or THz systems including components such as mixers, amplifiers and frequency multipliers- A deep electromagnetics background with experience designing components such as on-chip antennas- Hands-on test experience with equipment such as network analyzers and VNA extenders- Strong communication and team collaboration skills- Leadership skills, ability to work independently in fast-paced startup environment"Nice to Have"s- Experience with radar systems- Experience with digital synthesis ASIC flows (Cadence Genus, Innovus etc)- Experience with Keysight ADS- Knowledge of mmW/THz semiconductor packaging- US Citizen
