Team Lead Process Design and Control

supporting the

Performance Products

Division located in

Conroe, Texas . This position will report to the

Manager, Technical.

Job Scope

Provide leadership for the Process Design team and Process Control team supporting the Conroe plant in the capacity of a working supervisor.

As the Team Lead Process Design and Control you will:Perform duties of a process design engineer; group leader position is a working supervisor.Supervise other process design engineers: assign projects, ensure workflow, guide and counsel senior engineers, and conduct performance evaluation.Supervise process control engineers; ensure process control resources coincide adequately with maintenance activities and capital project needs as well as minimize DCS related troubles.Participate in and conducts CAPEX scope and project reviews. Review and develop project justifications. Develop project overview presentations for plant and senior management.Provide process technical support to plant and PSM group. Serve as management-level technical advisor to plant management team. Actively seeks opportunities to add experience and logical approach to problem solving, goal setting, plant improvement, etc. Use technical knowledge and experience to guide, coach, and instruct other plant engineers, both in and out of group.Manage front-end design function for plant CAPEX program including PSM projects scope development. Facilitate CAPEX budgeting and priority setting for plant management. Collect and evaluate incoming project suggestions between budgets to reprioritize CAPEX resources.Work with HATC (Huntsman Advanced Technology Center) personnel to help insure a smooth transition of new products through research and development and into commercialization.Other general responsibilities:

Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.Participates in and completes company-required training programs.Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or other related engineering field with 7+ years of Process Experience.5 + years of oil, gas or chemical manufacturing industry experience.Specific Skills and Knowledge

Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programsPosition will generally have direct reports who are senior, experienced engineers. Team Leader must have sufficient engineering experience and knowledge to command the respect of group members and plant management.Should have prior experience in front-end process design functions.Proficiency with process design tools such as ASPENPLUS would be a plus.Competencies:

Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing,and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
