Production Artist & Graphic Designer

PepWear is looking for an experienced Production Artist and Graphic Designer to join our highly collaborative, detail-oriented art team. Candidates must be comfortable working with quick turn arounds and tight timeline requirements as well as working directly with customers for artistic direction. He/She will report to the Art Manager while working directly with the Production Manager, Custom Sales Team and Events Team to develop and maintain high quality, production-friendly artwork.

Objectives of this Role

Responsible for creating and developing custom graphics used for screen print, embroidery, vinyl, DTF and promotional products at the direction of our customers, sales team and events team.Additional graphic needs might include images for marketing, web, advertising, and signage.Serve as a prepress production artist by preparing artwork for productionWorking with the Art and Production Managers to maintain high first-time print production runs through feedback and training with the Sales, Events and Art DepartmentsDaily and Weekly Responsibilities

Work closely with the art manager, art team, event team, and sales representatives to create proofs and interpret work orders for production to ensure projects are high quality and completed with accuracy and on scheduleCommunicate with clients through email and phone conversations to ensure their vision is executed in all designs and to discuss realistic options for realizing that visionMaintain accurate and organized electronic files of all works in progress or completedAnalyze files to ensure they are press-quality as well as double-checking critical aspects of images to match approved proofs before files are sent to productionConvert and produce approved image files for use with production equipment including screen printing, embroidery, promotional products, and digital wide format printingSupport the Production Department by revising artwork, creating new artwork, or communicating with customers changes needed for successful productionManage digitizing process and edit as needed for the embroidery processStay current on design and fashion trends for creative solutions to our customer needsJob Skills & Qualifications

Required:

Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent experienceProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, and PhotoshopHave the graphic designing skills required to design mockups, vector graphics, logo editing, etc.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detailsBe customer service orientedStrong communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers via phone and email to get the information for best first draft designs and editsExcellent problem solvingFile management and strong organizational skillsAcute attention to detail, instructions, spelling and grammarPreferred:

Working knowledge of the screen-printing process and its related specifications and limitations including color separationsWorking knowledge of Embroidery and Digitizing processExperience with QuickBase and/or ShopWorks is a plus (not required)Additional Information

Other:

This is a full-time, hourly position, the pay range is $18-20/hrRegular work hours are daytime, Monday through Friday; Some extended hours may be necessary during peak seasonsA Criminal Background Check is requiredBenefits:
