Your Role

Gensler Detroit is looking for a dedicated

Design Manager

with 10+ years of corporate workplace interior design experience. At Gensler, our

Managers

are key to our design delivery model and management of our projects, orchestrating and providing oversight starting from the preparation of proposals until project handover. Just as important as your project management experience, you will also act as single point of contact for owners and consultants to ensure unparalleled client experiences.

What You Will DoImplement one or more client projects through the leadership of project teamsManage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, consultants, vendors and contractorsPrepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees with the assistance of senior leadershipDevelop and manage project teams in conformance with approved work plansTrack and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, billings and collections)Provide leadership to the team and client by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and scheduleSupport business development efforts and proposalsYour Qualifications

10+

years of experience having delivered exceptional interior design projectsProfessional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Interior Design from an accredited programPMP or other management certificate preferredKnowledge of local building codes and structures preferredInteriors/Workplace/Facilities management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancyProject fee assessment and management experienceExtensive knowledge of architectural/design principles and practicesGood communication and management skillsDemonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required. Portfolios should include at least 1 project with this particular focus, and candidates should be prepared to talk to this in their interview, especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwell and /or Net Zero Building certificationExperience delivering projects in Detroit preferredComputer skills required: Microsoft Word, Project, and Excel, Strong AutoCAD, Revit skills preferred
