JOB OVERVIEW

Working within New Waterloo's Creative Team, the Production Artist (PA) will be accountable for developing and fabricating creative assets for all New Waterloo brands, both internally and externally. The primary function of the PA will be to work with a cross-functional, multi-project team to produce content that is high quality, innovative, on-brand and on-budget. The PA will support and collaborate with internal stakeholders (design, operations, sales, HR and others), property leadership, and New Waterloo's creative partners.

What you'll do:Source print & production vendors, place orders and maintain inventory of printed & produced assetsServe as a creative liaison to New Waterloo properties, existing and forthcoming, by participating in developing marketing strategies to support revenue and brand goalsComprehend form & function of creative jobs from inception and be personally accountable for final stages of fabricationAble to produce and edit final, print-ready and digital filesInspect finished work from all graphic designers to ensure quality and consistency within a multitude of brandsAssist New Waterloo's in-house Creative Team in development, design and production / execution of assets across multiple projectsEstablish and maintain positive, productive relationships with local & nation-wide vendor contactsManage creative budgets + spends for all properties, including coding all creative purchases on Divvy and implementing spends into property trackers; support creative budgeting process for forthcoming year + projectsServe as the point of contact for stakeholders during the creative production process, including providing updates, interpreting feedback, and final eyes before orders are placed.Help the creative team designers monitor incoming design queue and assess which type of media may be most effective in accomplishing goalsManage projects issues/risks in a timely manner and appropriately escalate when necessary.Lead Creative Team in post-project analysis, to determine what went well and where there is room for improvementDemonstrate a sound understanding of marketing/advertising strategy and holistic, integrated conceptual and visual interpretationEffectively present and clearly communicate creative work internally and feel comfortable participating in client meetingsCollaborate & communicate with brand managers and stakeholdersConsistently meet or exceed deadlines and client/agency expectationsHandle multiple tasks easily, sometimes working in a fast-paced environmentStay current with the latest techniques, digital formats, design trends, technology & productsTake a hands-on approach to sustainable fabrication by exploring & offering various solutions that can be renewable, natural, recyclable, etc. Be passionate about sourcing products from local, female-owned, POC, or minority vendors.Who you are:

You have an understanding of the print and production processes. You have advanced knowledge of all file types and methods of distribution. Advanced knowledge of print production details: bleeds, trim, printing processes, materials, binding, etc.You have advanced knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom.You are proficient in G Suite, including Google Drive, Sheets, Documents, and Presentation.You have experience working within a project management platform like Monday.comYou are open & responsive to feedback and criticism, but also able to take a stand for work you believe in. You know how to develop and pitch KPI-oriented creative solutions as a response to brand, operational, and revenue goals.You have the ability to manipulate design style for each unique brand.You have a passion for merchandisingBachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Art, Marketing, Communications, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience1 - 3+ years experience working in a design or merchandising environment preferredA portfolio that reflects conceptual thinking and production skillsBENEFITS
