Our team in Canada is growing. We are recruiting a

Technical Mechanical Piping Designer

to join our Global Consulting line in the Burlington office.

About the role:

Progressive experience with detailed industrial, oil & gas and chemical piping systems.

Preparation of piping isometrics, line lists, and material take-offs.

Understanding of pipe support design requirements and movements.

Experience in the preparation of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement plans and sections.

Able to coordinate with other disciplines such as structural, electrical, HVAC to ensure no clashes.

Preparation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.

Knowledge of material specifications and standards.

Field experience safely obtaining existing site information regarding pipe routing, arrangements, supports, and sizes to develop background drawings with limited assistance.

Knowledge of engineering workflow processes and industry standards.

Ability to work closely with senior engineers and senior designers on the completion of deliverables with challenging schedules.

Experienced in 3D modelling, AutoCAD Plant 3D

Knowledgeable in creating layouts and 3D models for process equipment and piping directly from P&IDs, vendor drawings (STP files) and piping specifications using codes and good design practices and generating 2D drawings from the 3D model.

Identifies needs for accessibility for cleaning, maintenance and safety around equipment and items such as valve manifolds, instruments, and valve actuators.

Skilled to work with process fluids, steam, condensate, compressed air, thermal fluids, etc.
