Senior Plumbing Designer

in our Madison, WI office.

Principal Responsibilities

Responsible for complete design for plumbing projects of all sizesMakes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staffPlans design work, calculates costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projectsCoordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, mechanical, administrative, and equipment suppliersMaintains project design notebook and provides documentation data for permanent project filesActs as an advisor and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team membersEvaluates project staffing requirements, analyzes problems, and writes reportsAttends project meetings, or when appropriate, can request junior staff to attendMeets with clients, prepares proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relationsIdentifies prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients, and develops future projects with existing clientsAssists in project checking for quality controlOther duties assignedRequired Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawingsKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the plumbing construction or repair of buildings and structuresSkill in the use of Microsoft programs and BIM softwareAbility to clearly communicate clearly in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseSolid understanding of plumbing systems (waste, vent, domestic water, and naturalgas)Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable discipline with 10 years of qualifying experienceOR

Minimum of 11 years of qualifying experienceThis position is not eligible for sponsorship
