Piping Designer

TSR is seeking a Piping Designer with to work with one of the largest EPC firms in the country. This is a long term contract position in Richmond, VA. Position will be onsite only with a flexible work schedule.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentPerform the necessary fieldwork, pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, develop detailed scopes.Work from P&ID's, client specifications and vendor data to design complex piping systems for chemical facility.Create isometrics, pipe supportsEnsures that completed design is functional, maintainable and designed with safety and that all applicable codes have been followed and maintainInterface with other disciplinesQualificationsKnowledgeable in the design and layout of process piping and equipment with 5 -7years of experience preferred.Proficient in AutoCAD or MicroStation, E3D or PDMS is preferredMust have extensive fieldwork experience in chemical, industrial, or manufacturing environmentsSome work may require working at heights above 6 feet, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and man-liftsPhysical RequirementsWork is located at a chemical plant and requires exposure to ambient temperature extremesWork may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed bootsDay-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20lbs frequentlyWork requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairsMay require walking the plant property
