Job Description:
Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player to assist senior designers and engineers in the design of piping systems and creating of AutoCAD drawings for piping work packages.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Field evaluation and measurements of existing piping systems
• 2D & 3D drafting of piping plans & elevations and piping isometric & spool drawings
• Application of Client and Industry standards and specifications
• Review drawings produced by others
• Drive to develop business applications for emerging technologies
• Assist in developing piping specialty item specification criteria
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education:2-year technical degree
• Experience:Min Yr = 3Max Yr = 8+
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD, exposure to 3D, Navisworks, and Bluebeam PDF redline tools
• Management: No management experience is required
• Other Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Travel: Willingness to travel and visit client facilities
Professional Development Opportunities:
• Improve field evaluation/measurement skills for greater fieldwork autonomy
• Improve depth of understanding of piping design codes (ASME B31.3 & 31.1)
• Learn new programs such as Plant 3D, Bluebeam, ReCap, and Navisworks
• Learn quality assurance techniques of drawings/specification reviews
• Greater exposure to design of piping specialty items
• Greater exposure to multiple Client / Industry specifications and standards
• Learn basic structural drafting
Individual field assignments typically each have their own unique requirements. Prior to deployment on any field assignment, you must be able to meet all client-specific site requirements. Should you be unable or unwilling to meet assignment-specific requirements, your continued employment would then be subject to the availability of other assignments whose requirements can be met. These unique requirements may include:
• You must possess physical mobility (on the ground and at heights).
• You may be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• You may be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection.
• You must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing the appropriate PPE. This may include but not be limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots.
• You may be required to position yourself to work in confined spaces.
• You may be required to adhere to a client's random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
• You may be required to meet a client's facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
