Music Therapist . The Music Therapist will be a contractor who is responsible for managing their caseload, billable units, supplies, and documentation within New Hope of Indiana guidelines. Therapists are paid for billable units only.

About the Job: Music Therapist

As the Music Therapist you will provide holistic, purposeful interventions specifically designed to meet the capabilities, needs, and interests of the individual you are serving through the Music Therapy program at New Hope of Indiana. Your objectives are to determine and utilize music therapy approaches that effectively aid in the restoration, maintenance, and improvement in mental and physical health.

What You Will Do: Music Therapist

Provide therapeutic sessions in the community and in home; and occasionally at New Hope of Indiana when neededMaintain reliable transportationCommunicate with new referrals, Schedule initial interviewsAssess new clients through observation, interview, & communication with individual and their teamRequest desired units & submit outcomes to case manager and team; Set schedules, adjusting as needed for unit allotment, & collects ISP, Intake Application, and BSPMaintain current ISP, BSP, and knowledge of medical needs & risksWrite, review, & revise outcomes & goalsPlan each session, targeting desired outcomes with a variety of activities: Complete activity session plan, tracking preparation timeMake accommodations within planning for specific needs, such as but not limited to: communication, making choices, activity schedule, etc.Document observations, participation, progress, & reactions from each session; Complete Progress Note for each session tracking session time and units used.Billing: track weekly units & adjust schedule to maintain units, ensuring there is no over usageComplete monthly summary for each client, including progress toward & revision of goals, observations & client participation; upload to DDRSCollaborate with individuals' support teams on a regular basis about observations, participation, concerns, & progress

Education and Experience Requirements:

Must have obtained a Bachelors degree in Music therapy or similar field with active MT-BC Credentials (Music Therapy - Board Certified) & experience working with individuals with disabilities.
