***To apply, please send all resumes to Lauralyn Maranto at lauralyn@.Position SummaryThe primary role of the Director of Marketing is to manage the advertising efforts of Visit Baton Rouge.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage daily work of the advertising agency and ensure alignment with the annual agreed upon scope of work.Provide art direction and brainstorm creative concepts with the advertising agency to enhance the Visit Baton Rouge brand.Oversee consumer media buying activities of the advertising agency.Approve advertising agency and in-house advertising invoices, ensuring that proper tearsheets and records are kept.Oversee B2B media buying activities of the advertising agency while working with convention, sports and travel trade sales teams to determine target markets and publications.Oversee the paid social media strategy and in-house advertising budget.Responsible for tracking and analyzing relevant marketing data and statistics.Monitor and approve advertising agency invoicing to ensure alignment with the annual budget.Work with convention, sports and travel/trade sales teams to develop B2B ad messaging and write advertorial.Manage the advertising agency RFP process.Assist the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications in setting departmental goals and implementing standards.Manage the creation, accuracy and distribution of the annual Impact Report, highlighting Baton Rouge-area travel industry successes and Visit Baton Rouge's accomplishments based on its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Oversee the collection, cataloging and licensing negotiations for the creation and use of photography and video used for promotional and media relation purposes. Conduct periodic audits of the advertising agency's licensing records.Assist the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications with the creation and management of marketing and communications' cooperative endeavor agreements and contracts with national, state, and local partners as needed.Work with the Research & Technology Manager to study all available data to formulate innovative marketing strategies.Involvement in professional and/or civic organizations to enhance networking opportunities.Attend relevant industry-related functions as requested.Assume additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.Position Qualifications and RequirementsCollege degree or equivalent relevant experience in related fieldMinimum of four years of experience working in marketing/communications and preferably hospitalityExcellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsKnowledge and experience with budgeting methods and applicationsKnowledge and experience with market research methodsAbility to set and meet multiple deadlinesAbility to work flexible hours including overnight travelExhibit flexibility and adaptabilityPossess valid driver's license, have reliable transportation and have sufficient motor vehicle liability insurance coverageRegularly required to talk or hear, see, sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers or feel, reach, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 30 to 40 lbs. (The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of the job.)Disclaimer:Nothing in the job description restricts management's rights to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
