The Role:

As a Product Designer at RIVET, you will play a crucial role in bringing life, structure, and usability to our evolving platform. Your daily functions will include performing discovery on the highest value problems for construction contractors, creating user-centered designs, developing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. You will also translate requirements into cohesive design systems and troubleshoot UX problems. This role is essential to our product and development teams, ensuring our software solutions meet the needs of our users in the construction industry.

You will work closely with a cross-functional team consisting of product managers and engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders from marketing, customer success, and sales. This ensures a unified brand experience and product vision. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will bridge the gap between user needs and technical implementation.

Your responsibilities include conducting user research, producing polished mockups, and continuously refining designs based on user feedback. This role is vital in creating intuitive, engaging products that align with our brand vision and enhance user experience.

What You'll Do:

Conduct discovery and user research to understand user needs, preferences, and pain points, gathering insights through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to inform design decisions.

Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are feasible, meet user needs, and are implemented accurately within the Agile development process.

Produce detailed and polished high-fidelity mockups of user interfaces, ensuring designs are visually appealing, consistent with brand guidelines, and provide a cohesive user experience.

Develop and iterate on user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to create seamless user experiences aligned with business and technical requirements.

Incorporate customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design iterations, continuously refining and improving the user experience.

Maintain and develop design systems, style guides, and design patterns to ensure consistency across the platform.

Design product UI elements and marketing graphics for a cohesive brand experience.

Identify and troubleshoot UX problems to enhance user experience and satisfaction.

Communicate design guidelines effectively to ensure alignment across the team and stakeholders.

Support Agile software development by participating in sprint planning and review sessions, contributing to the overall success of the product development cycle.

What You'll Bring:

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a UX or Product Designer.

Proficiency in prototyping tools such as Figma to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

Solid understanding of user-centered design principles to create intuitive and effective user interfaces.

Ability to conduct thorough product discovery, including user research and validation, to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for new features and improvements.

Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.

Experience developing and maintaining design systems, style guides, and design patterns to ensure consistency across platforms.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketing, customer support, and sales.

Ability to articulate design concepts and gather user feedback clearly and concisely.

Strong creative problem-solving skills and product design instincts.

Ability to identify and troubleshoot UX problems to enhance user experience and satisfaction.

Experience supporting Agile software development, including participation in sprint planning and review sessions.

Over 5 years of experience as a UX or Product Designer, demonstrating a deep understanding of the field and advanced skills.

A degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field, offering formal training and theoretical background in design principles and methodologies.

Previous experience working within the construction industry, providing context and insights into user needs specific to this sector.

Experience working in a startup environment, showcasing the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and dynamic work conditions.

Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, enabling better collaboration with engineering teams and understanding of technical constraints.

Advanced skills in conducting user research, including ethnographic studies, in-depth interviews, and usability testing, to gather comprehensive user insights.
