Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team. This role is for an innovative thinker with a strong understanding of design fundamentals and the ability to approach each task with new creative solutions. The senior graphic designer is responsible for the visual elements of marketing materials, proposals, presentations, events, videos and more for Kiewit’s diverse markets. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and the skills to lead a project from conception to delivery.

District Overview

The Kiewit Energy marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to an array of markets, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, industrial, oil and gas, and water/wastewater. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, digital strategists, marketers, and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company.

Location

This position can be based out of our Lenexa, KS or Houston, TX offices. Opportunities for flexible work are available.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute creative projects from concept through completion in all print and electronic media forms.

Develop visually persuasive marketing collateral with the marketing team, including brochures, flyers, banners, social, client presentations and more.

Lead the development of visual elements for events, including but not limited to trade show graphics, banners, signage, invitations, giveaways and apparel. Responsible for communicating the Kiewit brand to the intended audience using established brand standards.

Collaborate with the proposals team and subject matter experts to brainstorm and develop unique branding, professional page layouts and highly technical, compelling infographics to support each pursuit strategy.

Manage production of all print pieces, including using in-house production tools and communicating with vendors.

Execute video and motion graphics projects from start to finish. Collaborate with internal clients and external vendors to produce compelling videos on time and budget.

Provide effective and timely solutions for any level of creative requests.

Lead and execute multiple projects with shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

A degree in a design or related field (e.g., graphic design, visual communications, marketing, etc.) or the equivalent work experience.

5+ years of experience working in design or marketing teams, digital or advertising agencies.

Electronic portfolio required. Must include examples of a multi-page document layout, logo design, marketing collateral and infographic.

Adobe Creative Suite expert user (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator required).

Microsoft Office 360 expert user (PowerPoint and Word required).

Photography, videography, video editing and motion graphics skills preferred.

Expert knowledge of graphic design fundamentals and processes and innate attention to detail

Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills.

Works well independently and on a team.

Occasional travel may be required.
