The annual base salary for this position ranges from $122,000.00 in our lowest geographic market to $288,500.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Brand Manager to lead our Men’s Basketball Brand Marketing team in New York City as well as play a key role in shaping the future of Nike Basketball from the epicenter of hoops. To be considered for this role, you have an unrivaled understanding of the New York City basketball consumer and city landscape, be a consumer and hoops obsessed marketer, a team-first collaborator, energy-giving partner, and brand innovator with an openness to learn!

As part of our New York City Men’s Brand Management team, you will live and breathe New York hoops and be the voice and advocate for our NYZ (NYC GEN Z) consumer. You will use your deep basketball knowledge and relationships across New York City grassroots programs, leagues, and communities to activate the stories we tell and the moments we create. Reporting directly to the NYC Men’s Brand Marketing Director, you will be responsible for creating brand plans that are authentic to New York City hoops and drive brand relevance through consistent connections with our Next Gen Hooper. You will be on the cutting edge of driving innovative strategies for NYC Basketball that will have an impact and influence on the global stage.

Qualified candidates should have experience leading brand strategy, orchestrating cross-channel marketing plans, navigating partnerships with athletes, leagues, and community organizations, thoughtfully driving seasonal activations across the city, and managing diverse teams. You should have a comprehensive grasp of the NYC basketball landscape, a keen sense of nuances and intricacies of the NYC basketball communities and key figures along with the ability to lead multiple projects across a matrixed organization.

What you will work on

You will partner with our North America Basketball Brand Management team and marketing functional partners to bring a New York City dimension to Nike Basketball. You will lead key NYC grassroots programming throughout the 5 boroughs to connect, push and inspire our athlete.

You will work with Geo & City Brand and functional partners to drive a robust plan for NYC Basketball and continually build new consumer experiences that accelerate basketball brand and business growth opportunities internally and externally, setting the stage for from NYC basketball to the world.

You will champion our NYC consumer and regularly share insights to teams in NA and Global.

As the New York City Men’s Basketball Sr Brand Manager, you will:

Obsess the New York City basketball consumer and his needs, consistently delivering experiences that connect with him and his community

Build and deliver the New York City brand strategy for basketball, delivering consistent consumer experiences and activations designed for the New York City consumer

Manage collaboration from idea to execution, engaging with our key cross-functional and cross-sport partners in the city and Geo

Develop, plan and implement NYC seasonal basketball grassroots platforms in conjunction with Nike EYBL teammates to create inspiration and aspiration for NYC hoopers

Authenticate NYC’s voice in key NBA and WNBA moments and campaigns

Lead, manage, and develop the NYC Basketball Brand Marketing team

Build and nurture relationships with the NYC basketball leagues, athletes, communities, grassroots partners

Find new innovative ways to connect with the NYC hooper on the court and in their communities and playground

Partner with Sports Marketing to elevate athlete storytelling and integration into New York City programming and activations

Support an end-to-end process to gain insight from consumers including cultural trends and share insights regularly with the organization

Identify integrated opportunities between basketball and other lifestyle or sport teams to build the strongest end-in-mind experience for the consumer across performance and culture

Track and manage seasonal campaign progress, including recapping and teardowns and have a pulse on the city consumer to feed insights back

Who you will work with

As the New York City Men’s Basketball Sr Brand Manager, you will report directly into the New York City Men’s Director.

You will lead the NYC Basketball Brand team to orchestrate the marketing offense that drives brand storytelling, fuel consumer demand, and build authentic connections with basketball communities.

You will collaborate with teammates across Nike to build more effective and efficient ways to encourage and connect with Basketball and athletes* in New York City. Key internal and external partners include:

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or combination of relevant education, experience and training.

8+ years of experience in brand marketing or related experience with a deep understanding of the New York City basketball ecosystem and the elite and everyday basketball athlete

Demonstrated genuine passion and deep understanding of basketball, culture, fashion, trends and growing the sport across underserved communities

Extensive knowledge of the Nike basketball product and athlete portfolio

Experience leading and managing diverse teams, with a team-first mentality and ability to influence decision makers

Digital first attitude with strong initiative and curiosity to cultivate innovation

External facing experience with league and retail partners

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Ability to balance creativity with organization and discipline in fast moving, ambiguous environment
