Responsibilities
* Assist with injections, pap smears, biopsies, and LEEP procedures.* Prep lab specimens for send out.* Assess patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans.* Set up procedures (i.e. port placement and blood transfusion), referrals, and obtain prior authorization.* Obtain pathology reports, manage faxes, and return emergent and non-emergent patient phone calls.* Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow.* Documents all elements of care.* Serve as a resource to the Medical Assistants.* Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician, nurse, or advanced practice provider* Assess patient and family needs.* Complete new patient chart prep for physician team ensuring all elements of the patients work up is available to for review upon first appointment with provider
Qualifications
* High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.* Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.* Minimum of two years-experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting preferred but not required.* Current CPR certification required.* Must be willing to travel between offices when needed.
