Jordan Design is a high-performance team that works together, pushes the boundaries, and always stays focused on delivering the best product for the consumer.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORWe’re looking for an exceptional Senior Footwear Material Designer to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of Kid’s Streetwear.The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative problem solver with an exceptionally tuned eye for aesthetic, craft, details, someone who doesn’t settle for anything less than the best design and materials solutions, to meet the needs of the consumer. This person will be focused on elevating the consumer experience by creating materials that perform, are trend-relevant and consumer right to help push the future of Jordan Kid’s Streetwear Footwear for a range of products, driving an emotional connection through narratives and storytelling, as well as pushing the edges of sustainable footwear material design.WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONIf this is you, your goal will be to aim for product excellence by partnering cross-functionally, and help bring the vision of Jordan Kid’s Streetwear Footwear products to life. You will be working on a range of material designs using the latest techniques all the way to curating and elevating existing materials for refresh and collection models.Your work encompasses storytelling, concepting and ideating through the lens of the Jordan Kid consumer, to creating and finalizing tech packs, as well as working with manufacturing partners.You will unleash creativity with a focus on sustainability, using consumer insights to inform our creative response. Your focus will help drive innovation and embed cultural connections into our designs to create separation from our competition. The daily responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and exciting!WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHAs a Senior Material Designer in Jordan Kid’s Streetwear, you will have the opportunity to work with a large project team of different professionals (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, product testing, sustainability, materials development, costing, etc.), and collaborate within the design community (industrial designers, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.) to bring to life the seasonal creative direction through Footwear Materials design and innovation!This role will report directly to the Material Design Director for Streetwear.WHAT YOU BRINGEDUCATION:Bachelor's degree or higher in design; textile, fashion, industrial, furniture, interior, architecture, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:+ At least 4 + years of relevant design experience exemplifying ability to push material design, and/or proven experience in Textile Design or Footwear Design.+ Ability to translate consumer knowledge/insights to narratives and product executions.+ Ability to create concepts and explore new Materials innovations and technologies and ideas+ Experience building inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction+ Experience building ideas virtually or by hand+ Participates in the communication and presentation of design concepts to internal and external audiences+ Collaborate and build interpersonal connections with design and adjacent functions Ability to create and edit files using Adobe programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign+ Ability in participating in multiple seasonal projects with competing resources and deadlines+ Understanding of the Footwear Product Creation process, a plus.+ Passion for designTeam Requirements:+ Positive attitude and energy+ Team player+ Collaborator and works well with others+ Speaks up with courage for self and the team+ Open minded, good listener and curiousNIKE, Inc. is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
