We offer a wide range of programs to youth ages 4 to18 years old, including after-school programming, school break day camps, and summer camps. Position Overview:

As part of the Resource Development team, the Institutional Giving Administrator will play a vital role in helping BGCSL achieve its goal to grow and deepen our impact in the San Leandro area by managing relationships with institutional supporters. This position is responsible for writing and submitting comprehensive proposals, managing grantor relationships, tracking grant requirements and milestones, completing timely reports, and managing internal records of BGCSL private and public funding from institutional funders. The Institutional Giving Administrator works collaboratively and strategically with the members of the development team and the Director of Development.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Grant Writing & Reporting:

Manage grants processes from prospect research to application planning, to application compilation and submission, to award review, signature, and tracking.Identify and evaluate all potential grant opportunities (public and private), present them to the DoD and CPO demonstrate application of financial alignment, program and service sustainability, strategic alignment, implementation needs/requirements, and application complexity/requirements.Develop, write, and submit letters of inquiry, grant proposals, budgets, and periodic and final reports.Create and maintain a master calendar of grant applications, commitments, and reports.Oversee all grant reporting, working with staff across the organization to ensure grant and donor requirements are met, and necessary data is collected, documented, and reported.Maintain a comprehensive record of all pending, awarded, and declined grants using CRM or other designated organizational database.Portfolio Management and Stewardship:

Build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of corporate foundations, private foundations, and government funders (excluding ASES and ELOP) with a target of $500K for FY24-25 and approximately $1.5M for FY25-26.In partnership with the Director, set strategic targets for institutional funding and work to identify new opportunities.Employ appropriate stewardship including written and electronic communications, site visits, and in-person meetings to manage relationships with our foundation and government partners.Work with the DoD and Development Associate to coordinate appropriate engagement opportunities tied to funding agreements.Leadership and Strategic Planning:

Represent the Resource Development team at Board and committee meetings when appropriate.Collaborate with fellow members of the organization's leadership team.Regularly analyze and report on the outcomes of the Grants within the Development Department to leadership in partnership with DoD, providing insights and recommendations for strategic adjustments based on the findings.Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors' Degree and 5+ years of experience in development successfully securing institutional funding and exceeding contributed income goals; work samples required.Deep understanding of institutional funders in the San Leandro and East Bay region and national opportunities related to youth development.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Outstanding ability to write well-structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals and reports.Superior time management, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently while maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with funders, colleagues, and leadership.MS Office365, Word and ExcelInstrumental Grant writing software, knowledge a plusCompetencies:

Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Story-teller mindset.
