Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Systems Administrator with experience with Internet Protocol (IP) Radio telecommunications network design, installation, documentation, operations, maintenance, system engineering, sustainment engineering, management and oversight for a government agency's IP based radio telecommunications infrastructure. Will provide administrative Network and Radio support for special C2 systems including High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radios transmission systems. Provide Land Mobile Radio (LMR) connections between radio users and dispatched operators located around the Washington DC metro area. Maintain and troubleshoot SATCOM system.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and input to ensure emerging telecommunications programs reach adequate functional requirements, technical compatibility, and compliance with government and industry standards. Will document and report on a daily basis the status of the assigned responsibilities. Will be self-reliant and capable of performing essential technical maintenance activities without direct supervision, responsible for managing work orders and trouble tickets.

This position will assist government users in system problem diagnosis and troubleshooting, collection of problem information, and recommendation of fixes. Participates in the daily activities of configuration and operation of customer Radio IT networked systems. Functions as a Subject Matter Expert for Server Configurations. Provides quality assurance and operational reporting requirements. Will configure and test new technology, enhance current systems, and pioneer technology for new systems, work with cable fabrication, and troubleshoot communication lines and equipment.

This position is located in Washington DC. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Washington DC or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma and a minimum of 10 years of direct experience with telecommunications, integration design, installation and support

Background investigation adjudicated within the past three years (must be able to pass additional access screenings)

Extensive server experience

Experience with Wide Area Networks

Experience with IP routing schemes, configuration and troubleshooting routers and switches

Strong troubleshooting and problem isolation techniques for solving complex troubles with telecommunication instruments, equipment, circuits, channels, and trunk troubles where limited standardization exists

Ability to perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for any of the following equipment/systems: HF, UHF, VHF and Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) technology

Security + certification in accordance with DOD 8570 instruction

Experience with radio transmission technology, RF theory, HF, UHF, VHF radio systems

Considerable knowledge base of secure communications instruments, MB lines, T-1 primary rate interfaces

Capable of performing essential technical maintenance activities and telecommunications equipment installations, de-installations IAW applicable published standards with minimal guidancePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
