Job Summary:

The Web Developer, in partnership with the rest of the marketing team, product and service owners, is responsible for developing and managing Arkansas Federal Credit Union's website (afcu.org) and other digital properties. Possession of strong web programming skills, web design, and user experience best practices is required for this role.

Responsible for building, testing, and maintaining website layout and other components to enhance user experience. Ensures the proper integration of web servers and related supporting systems. Understands and follows through with business requirements during all phases of development. Makes certain that development procedures provide for optimal navigation, configuration management, and user experience. Continuously maintains the website(s); tests and troubleshoots issues and problems. Communicates with programmers, designers, and other specialists on matters of website concept, design, and architecture. Utilizes techniques and tools including HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.

Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience.

The team is responsible for understanding the growth goals of the organization, and imagining, spearheading, and executing campaigns and programs that help create profitable growth and increased membership.

We are looking for a creative, strategic demand generation marketing and communications professional who can effectively influence and collaborate across the organization. You must not only quickly understand, design, and develop, but be inspired by working in a fast-paced, growing credit union.

This position is on-site in the Little Rock Metropolitan Area.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Ability to design and develop new landing pages within the WordPress CMS. This may include using the built-in block editor (Gutenberg) or building a landing page from scratch. Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, PHP, jQuery, and JavaScript. Strong understanding of mobile responsive design.2. Build, test, and execute HTML and CSS-based designs using email campaign and marketing automation platforms.3. Ability to conceptualize, wireframe, and mockup creative ideas with marketing team and product owners.4. Ability to design and develop financial calculators using web technologies such as jQuery or Vue.js.5. Maintains the appearance and usability of the website and other digital properties. Keeping the website in line with credit union brand standards. Makes certain that development procedures provide optimal navigation, configuration management, and user experience.6. Provide ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and support for website properties. Assist with WordPress core platform and plugin updates.7. Provide timeline and budget estimate for new projects with defined scope and deliverables.8. Ability to work in team coding environments such as GitHub.9. Integrate with various third-party applications and platforms including Active Campaign, digital ad platforms, and other marketing-related tools and APIs.10. Understanding of website accessibility standards such as WCAG and how to resolve issues using Siteimprove.11. Assist in the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies to optimize the online user experience and increase marketing effectiveness.12. Ability to quickly assess and debug errors within programming code. Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.13. Identify issues uncovered by customer or employee feedback and either correcting them or referring them to vendors or other personnel for correction.14. Monitors and analyzes website analytics looking for pitfalls and opportunities to enhance the member experience and increase conversion.15. Ability to define and set up A/B and multivariate testing. Personalize prospect and member experiences using website personalization software.16. Good understanding of search engine optimization tactics and best practices.17. Maintains website hosting environment, backup and failover strategy, and vendor relationship.18. Researches and evaluates new technology trends and identifies new opportunities.19. Work with industry, agency partners, and other related teams across our business, to ensure the strategy is innovative, relevant, and localized.20. Maintain and deploy member and employee-facing content to the credit union's digital signage.21. Deploy content to the credit union's social media channels.22. Represent the Marketing Department on project teams within the credit union.23. Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, mission statement, quality statement, organization, bylaws, compliance regulations, and operational procedures.24. Participate in the recommendation and execution of internal sales and service culture.25. Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values, and long-term objectives.26. Perform job duties within our bylaws, regulations, and Board of Director's policies, established internal and external service standards, budgets, and our work procedures.27. Demonstrate Arkansas Federal Credit Union's core values and core purpose.28. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Microsoft Office Suite• Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Figma• HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery and Vue.js• MySQL database• WordPress CMS, Gravity Forms, and Advanced Custom Fields plugins• GitHub• Knowledge of email marketing design and development platforms (i.e. MailChimp, Constant Contact, or equivalent)• Knowledge of website personalization software

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Web design and development, or other related field and at least 2-4 years of professional experience in website development. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
