We are seeking a

Pharmacy Authorization Support Technician

to join our team.This role, under general supervision, processes refill authorization and prior authorization requests in a centralized office location for participating Primary Care providers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Communicates patient requests/concerns to provider or nurse verbally or in writingAssists in the coordination of clerical information necessary to provide excellent patient care and outstanding customer servicePrepares refill and prior authorization requests for review by the provider as directed by department protocolsSchedules appointments if necessaryArranges lab tests if prescribed by providerEnters/gathers patient information in the EHR to process refill and prior authorization requestsFosters positive interpersonal relationships with fellow employees, providers, and patientsDocuments pertinent information in the EHRCommunicates with patients verbally or in writing as directed by department protocolsCommunicates with pharmacies and health plans via fax, phone, and electronic portalsFollows written and oral instructions and completes routine tasks independentlyCompletes assigned trainingsOther duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Required Qualifications:

High School / GED (or higher)Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of FloridaPreferred Qualifications:

Pharmacy technician and/or customer service call center experienceKnowledge of pharmaceutical/medical terms and abbreviationsBasic level proficiency with computer skills including ability to enter patient data and navigate applications including Allscripts & ECW, Intranet, and Microsoft Office ToolsMath skills required for usual medication dosage and determinationOutstanding customer service skillsKnowledge of medication refill and prior authorization processes
