Wallauer Design Center, Westchester's leader in custom window treatments and home décor, is looking for our next design team member as a Design Consultant, specializing in window treatments, drapery, wall coverings and home accessories.
An ideal candidate has an eye for design as well as some experience working with clients in either a sales capacity or design capacity. Working with urgency and with a variety of different customer and team member personalities is an important part of the job. This is a sales position, but mostly involves helping homeowners and interior designers select fabrics and wallpaper, and design window treatments.
Design Consultant Job Requirements:
No experience is necessary - we will train the right individual who has an eye for design and enjoys working and communicating with people, and possesses the following skills:Pay attention to details.Be passionate about design and aesthetics.Be able to handle pressure and stress.Be able to work under a time constraint.Have an eye for design and color.Be a team player.Follow instructionsComputer skills essentialResponsibilities of a Design Consultant:Greeting customersHelping customers find what they are looking forIntroducing customers to new productsSolution solving for customer design needsUpselling and cross-selling products when appropriateAnswering questions about products or servicesCoordinating with team members for outstanding customer service
