and participate in profit sharing as you have impact improving the education facilities of tomorrow for our local community.ResponsibilitiesManages, develops, and coordinates the District’s design process for the A&E Services to ensure that plans are within functional program, budgetary, environmental and legal requirements.Manages multiple projects, including engineering repair and critical repair, through interaction with Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely completion of these projects.Oversees the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSD’s standards and guidelines for the District by working with design professionals and various District administrators to ensure that new and modernized structures meet both educational and building standards requirements.Establishes and follows a process to identify and select the architectural firm best suited for each project based on the firms’ qualifications and ability to meet performance standards.Provides Architects with clear and consistent direction with regard to goals and objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each project.Establishes and follows an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that the design meets the overall goals and objectives for each project.Provides maximum value for dollars budgeted and are appropriate and enduring to meet the functional needs of the District, the local community, and the environment.Reviews design changes to ensure project remains within budget.Monitors project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations, and updates.Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering is required.8 or more years of full time paid professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that included the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities is required (with 4 or more years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies).An RA or PE credential from the State of California is preferred.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment and frequently works in a construction environment. Conditions occasionally include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is regularly moderate and occasionally loud.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the position is moderately active and the employee is required to regularly sit, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently stand, walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 5 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 20 pounds.Travel RequirementsThe position is project office based embedded at the client location in their downtown Los Angeles, CA office.About Our CompanyKitchell

The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members. The annual base salary range listed here is subject to change at any time, in the Company’s discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
