Primary Responsibilities
HDR currently has an opening for an Electrical BIM Specialist 1 with the technical skills and desire to help support our nationally recognized BES Group. This position can be based out of our Charlotte, NC office. In the role of Electrical BIM Specialist 1, we'll count on you to:
Create electrical drawings for facilities, such as communications, security, lighting systems, and power systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)Develop entry-level drawings by using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of other Telecommunications/Electrical Technicians or EngineersDemonstrate knowledge of procedures for production of design developments and construction documents, and a thorough knowledge of engineering planning, drafting and detailingPerform other duties as needed.Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experienceExperience in commercial or institutional facilitiesStrong computer skills Microsoft Office, RevitDatabase familiarity a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
EIT certification preferredAt least one year of experience in designing communications, security, electrical, lighting, power and systems for building projectsExperience in Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities preferredExperience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm highly desirableExperience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desiredPreference given to local candidates
