UWorld’s illustration team is growing! We are seeking a talented medical Illustrator to collaborate with a team of animators, physicians, nurses, and scientists to create effective animations and illustrations for our educational apps. A successful candidate will have outstanding draftsmanship skills, an eye for illustration and a passion for education.
Minimum Education:Master’s degree in medical illustration or related fieldMinimum Experience:1-2 years of experience in the field of medical illustrationExceptional proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator)Experience working in ZBrush and Cinema 4D or Maya is a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Have experience in storyboarding, 3D modelling, texture mapping.Confidently work in an environment with high expectationsDemonstrated excellence in figure drawing and human anatomyBe receptive to continuous feedback from peers and managementHave excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsDevelop new skills rapidlyHave basic animation skillsJob Responsibilities:Design and CreateCreate storyboards, 3D assets, concept art (look development/styling) for our animation team.Create exceptional illustrations for a wide range of subjects, including anatomy & physiology, surgical techniques, nursing techniques, biology, organic chemistry, and physicsCollaborate with our medical and science teams to create unique ways of visualizing difficult conceptsUtilize a library of 3D and 2D assetsCreate illustrations according to stylistic guidelinesConsult and CollaborateCollaborate with content experts and animators to create medical and scientific animationsCollaborate with management and team members to define schedules and deliverables, and to ensure goals are metHelp maintain an efficient and successful production processTechnical/Quality AssuranceCommunicate effectively with IT & quality assurance teams to anticipate and resolve issuesWork independently or in small groups to trouble-shoot and provide solutions to production issues related to creation and content buildingBenefitsBenefits:Stable and growing work environment that prioritizes a quality work/life balanceComprehensive benefits package (medical, vision, dental, life, disability)Paid time off (based on sliding scale according to hire date and work hours)401(k) plan for retirement with 5% employer matching (eligibility after 90 days of employment)Generous paid holiday schedule that includes the entire week of Christmas offCompetitive salary with annual bonus eligibilityOnsite work environment with flexibility to work 1 day remotely each weekOn-site group fitness classes & relaxed work environmentAt UWorld, we believe strength is derived from the talents, ideas, and experiences of a diverse workforce.
