Job DescriptionTherapist will provide services for patients and families in accordance with the IDG plan of care, with the purpose of enhancing quality of life. These therapies are used in conjunction with conventional medicine.PRIMARY FUNCTIONTherapist will provide services for patients and families in accordance with the IDG plan of care, with the purpose of enhancing quality of life. These therapies are used in conjunction with conventional medicine.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES1. Conducts Therapy assessments and assists IDG in development of plan of care.2. Facilitates Therapy sessions with individual patients and caregivers or groups using appropriate interventions as directed by supervisor and IDG.3. Instructs other healthcare personnel in providing their specialty-related services to address patient and family needs.4. Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.5. Evaluates the quality of Therapy interventions and reports effectiveness to supervisor and IDG.6. Assists with creating, planning and facilitating special VITAS programs and events as required.7. Facilitates Therapy educational presentations for VITAS staff and the community as directed by supervisor.8. Participates in Peer Review with other similar VITAS Therapists.9. Fulfills other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.QUALIFICATIONSMusic Therapist1. Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy or Music Therapy Equivalency Degree from an American Music Therapy Association (ATMA) approved university.2. Credentialed as a Music Therapist, Board Certified (MT-BC).3. 2 years Music Therapy experience, preferably in a health care related field.Art Therapist1. Master's Degree.2. Credentialed as an Art Therapist (ATR); Board Certified preferred (BC).3. 2 years Art Therapy experience, preferably in a health care related field.Child Life SpecialistI. BA in related field (children and/or family studies)2. Certification from the Child Life Council: CCLS) Certified Child Life Specialist3. 2 years' experience as a Child Life Specialist, preferably in a health care related field.
