Mission of the Role
(What you will be doing)The Packaging Designer provides a consistent, high-quality customer service experience and models exceptional service in all they do to create lasting partnerships by putting customers first. The design team plays an essential role in the communication between the customer service and operations team by providing clear and concise instructive documents.The Packaging Designer is a highly valued team member that works with the sales team, internal departments and customers and acts as an advocate of our client's values, services and capabilities to provide complete solutions and the full breadth of core product categories to meet and exceed sales growth targets.Key Duties & AccountabilitiesUse CAD equipment and software to develop packaging designs.Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)Utilize knowledge of various machines, mathematics, materials and other physical sciences to complete drawingsDraft detailed multi-view drawings of products, using CAD and Adobe suiteSet up, maintain and organize file system for designsCommunicate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing and Manufacturing regarding new and revised printsMaintains database regarding design changesProcess short order production runsOrder and receive all printing plates and cutting dies from preferred vendorsMeet with both internal and external clients to discuss viability and paths forward on projectsEssential FunctionsThe ability to adhere to and abide by detailed proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work environmentFacilitate new item set up including tapoffs, proof approval etc.Excel in a fast paced ever changing work environmentMaintain thorough customer recordsEducational/Training Requirements/ExperienceHigh School diploma/GEDExperience in a design related role is preferredMinimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability RequirementsUnderstanding of design principals and drafting techniquesStrong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasksDemonstrated initiative in personal professional developmentAttention to detail and accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe suiteAbility to communicate effectively in writing, verbally over the phone, and in person, at our own site and at customer or 3rd party sitesMaintain regular and punctual attendance
