The Broadcast Graphic Designer will create graphics that are used as part of live broadcast events at NASA's Johnson Space Center. Duties include creating 2D and 3D graphic stills and animations for a variety of HD and/or UHD broadcasts and web-based products that support the messaging goals of the External Relations Office. Must be skilled in brand development and cohesive graphics packaging, including logo and set design. Video editing capability is a plus. Candidate will interact with the live television production team to develop and design 2D and 3D graphic elements using a Ross Xpression graphics system for live broadcast events, as well as update and maintain graphics library and playlist. Knowledge of similar character generator systems is acceptable.

Must be able to discern client needs, develop, communicate and execute those ideas.

Working environment includes access-controlled edit suites, equipment room, studio, and live production control room. Candidate must have full color vision. Must be able to climb stairs.

EDUCATION AND PREVIOUS WORK REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree, Certification, or four years experience in related field.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

Minimum Requirements:Must be have expert-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Production Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere).

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lync, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.

Preferred Qualifications:Must be familiar with Cinema 4D software, Ross Xpression real-time 2D & 3D motion graphics system (live broadcast), and Visual Basic/Visual Logic programming.

Salary Range: $75K to $92K, Based on experience.

This is a hybrid position so must be able to commute to the Johnson Space Ctr. regularly.
