Each year, SRLA empowers over 3,000 students to embark on a life-changing journey: training for and completing the Los Angeles Marathon. About this job

The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans to promote the organization’s mission and achievement, increase public participation in SRLA events, and enhance supporter engagement. This role involves managing the organization’s digital presence, public relations, and content creation to support SRLA's fundraising and sponsorship efforts.

Marketing & Communications:

• Manage and execute a comprehensive, strategic marketing plan.

• Draft, curate, and publish regular updates on the SRLA website.

• Draft and publish SRLA’s regular email communications, including monthly newsletters, race communications, special announcements, etc. (on average 10 emails per month).

• Manage and create content for social media communications, including collaborations with various SRLA corporate and foundation partners.

• Create presentations and marketing materials to support SRLA’s efforts in fundraising and establishing corporate sponsorships.

• Manage the design of event materials.

• Manage all public relations communications.

• Create content for fundraising campaigns for individual donations.

• Manage public registration and public event experience at SRLA races.

• Lead and manage the charity team fundraising program.

• Support the SRLA team in the development and execution of special events, including press conferences, community events, and fundraisers.

• Track and measure the success of SRLA’s outreach using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and RunSignUp metrics.

• Demonstrated understanding of digital marketing tools and best practices.

• Demonstrated curiosity with a growth mindset seeking innovative solutions and ideas.

• Highly developed organizational and time-management skills; ability to effectively multi-task.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Keynote and Google Suite programs.

• Ability to work in a collaborative and cross-functional team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Public Relations, Communications).

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role.

• Proven track record of successful marketing campaigns and content creation.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.

• Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

• Proficiency in social media management, website content management systems, and email marketing tools.

• Knowledge of marketing best practices, trends, and digital analytics.

• Passion for the organization’s mission and commitment to community engagement.
