Description

Responsible for the creation, implementation and execution of the digital and social media vision and strategy across Boehringer Ingelheim's US Communications and supervises implementation of Boehringer Ingelheim's U.S. corporate external and internal digital and social media channel management. Plays an informal leadership role responsible for informally supervising specialized center of excellence team that is customer-focused, motivated, engaged and delivers results consistently at or above expectations. Responsible for identifying, prioritizing, planning and directing implementation of digital best practices and channel delivery across OPUs and the Innovation Unit. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with business partners and external stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and deliver well-aligned programming. Sits on the U.S. Corporate Reputation Committee and the U.S. Internal Communications committees. Reports directly to the Director, Executive Communications ' Enterprise Operations. This position offers a base salary typically between $135,000 and $170,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. Duties & Responsibilities

Serves as a key visionary to set and implement channel delivery strategy and innovation to amplify the corporate narrative, ensure stakeholder engagement and further business objectives, including TA strategies, Human Pharma, Animal Health and Biopharma businesses, Innovation Unit and Corporate Reputation.

Oversees end-to-end/daily maintenance for all enterprise and OPU-specific digital channels from partnering with stakeholders on content generation through to platform maintenance and trouble shooting.

Support and supervise the workload of the COE's Digital Managers who own day-to-day management of channels and provide strategic oversight.

Socialize capabilities and guidelines to working with the new group across the organizations.

Partners with Director, Exec Comms ' Enterprise Operations to develop governance and education to help the enterprise adopt new ways of engagement and thinking.

Creates new processes and guidelines for engaging the Digital Center of Excellence (DCOE) to ensure seamless partnership and effective deployment across the organization.

Establishes and actively engages in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure consistency of messaging/timing and effective use of resources.

Develops standards and best practices for content management, channel creation and management, and identifies tools and resources to achieve results through social/digital channels that support the US business.

Manage consultants/vendors and optimize resources for channel management including business case(s) for new resources and introduction of approaches to gain efficiencies.

Work closely with the OPU subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop content appropriate for digital and social channels.

Actively manage U.S. corporate channels, including proactive and reactive efforts. Creates and maintains standards for employee engagement on external social and digital corporate channels. As resources allow, engages in social media listening and engagement activities.

Continually assesses active channels/programs to gain insights, increase effectiveness and optimize use of resources. Institutes outcomes-based performance metrics to guide stakeholders in the development and execution of strategies, plans and tactics. Actively seeks out external insights and best practices to enhance BI's capabilities and inform programs.

Establishes self as subject matter expert (SME) internally and externally.

Provides counsel and guidance to business partners within and beyond the organization who seek to use social and/or digital channels. Educates internal partners regularly on digital and social media best practices, and ensures functional awareness of the evolving digital landscape and BI's strategy within it.

Aligns with global digital team to amplify efforts on an ongoing basis and as appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in PR/Communications (preferred), journalism (preferred, not required), or Marketing (preferred, not required)

Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in PR/communications

Experience cultivating and building relationships with the media

Agency management experience

Proven ability to develop, implement and lead Digital Communications strategy that aligns with the strategic direction of the Company

Strong project, event and time management skills

Proven ability to build relationships and influence outcomes both with and without authority

Strong negotiation skills; executive presence

Maintains Composure in highly stressful situations,

Adaptive and Flexible - is able to respond effectively to changes in priorities and/or the marketplace.
