Salary Range:

$53,000 - $72,600

*This role is

exclusively on-site , requiring daily commutes to the office. Therefore, candidates must reside in the Detroit/Metro-Detroit area before employment*

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to return the city's blighted and vacant properties to productive use. We utilize a variety of Sales programs to make homeownership and land purchases accessible to Detroiters. Plus, we take our commitment to revitalization one step further with our Compliance and Nuisance Abatement programs, requiring renovation and occupancy to improve neighborhoods, eliminate blight, and combat real estate speculation. The Detroit Land Bank Authority works directly with individual buyers, as well as Community Partner organizations and developers for projects big and small.

Reporting to the Asst. Director of Communications & Engagement, the Marketing Communications Manager develops, maintains, and supports all DLBA marketing strategies, plans, policies, and programs to promote our organization's brand and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies that align with DLBA business goals.Responsible for DLBA content development and distribution, including but not limited to website, social media, e-mail, and newsletters.Gather and analyze internal and external information to identify new DLBA markets and customers.Manage and collaborate daily with the Digital Content Specialist on special projects, content calendar, and editorial calendar.Research and draft adept internal and external communications for storytelling.Conduct market research for future strategic planning of all DLBA branding and initiatives.Oversee coordination and planning of DLBA marketing events.Monitor and collaborate with the IT Dept to ensure ongoing proper maintenance of branding initiatives on the DLBA websiteEnsure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all communications.Engage with the community and create a portfolio of all DLBA social media and written work.Interact and maintain relationships with communications and media professionals within and outside Detroit local government.Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Asst. Director of Communications & Engagement.QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field and/or years of equivalent experienceAt least three (3) years' experience in community relations, public affairs, or legislative affairsAbility to create high-quality content across various mediums (press releases, newsletters, brochures, etc.). preferredKnowledge of marketing principles and processesKnowledge of social media ethics, communication, and dissemination techniquesExcellent presentation and communication skillsAbility to type and operate standard office equipmentAbility to foster a teamwork environment with a keen sense of judgment and tactAbility to interact and communicate with a variety of peopleStrong project management skillsStrong interpersonal skillsGood time management skills and ability to multi-taskMeticulous and thorough with a strong attention to detailGood data entry and proofreading skillsMust be highly flexible and have the skill to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities, demands and timelines can shiftProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, desktop publishing and other marketing-driven programs, such as Canva and Adobe InDesign required.Demonstrated applied skills in website maintenanceAbility to work a flexible schedule, travel requiredMust possess a current and valid license to drive in the state of Michigan and a clean driving recordMust have reliable transportation for driving within the City of DetroitBENEFITS & PERKS
