As a Marketing Manager-Special Commodity Market, you will manage the marketing function for an assigned district or special market. In this role you will oversee the District's commodity buying including negotiating and purchasing for specific areas within the District. You will develop commodity strategy to increase gross margin rate and market share through maximizing buying power in support of sales and marketing initiatives, identify new growth opportunities within the category, and provide robust analytics. Our ideal candidate will have prior purchasing/buying experience for commodities such as pipe, wire, PVC, and conduit.

In this role you will:

Direct sales and marketing policy, develop marketing plans and strategies to increase market penetration and customer and supplier support consistent with Corporate sales and marketing policies and philoso

philosophies; build and maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers

Control inventory in assigned markets, develop programs to eliminate obsolete and excess stock, recommend stock levels for new and existing items; maintain district commodity pricing

Establish customer resale pricing, review customer pricing agreements, and monitor conformance to terms and conditions of national agreements to assure customer satisfaction with service levels

Participate in training and development of new sales and marketing employees

Coordinate large quote projects involving other districts

Manage Corporate Accounts under one million dollars for customers located in the district

What you bring to the table:

Minimum 3 years experience in sales or customer service required; 4+ years experience preferred

4 year degree in Sales and Marketing preferred

Ability to quickly learn local markets and products in an assigned market and internal roles as they relate to customers (Sales hierarchy)

Leadership skills

Oral and written communication skills

Organizational and planning skills

Ability to evaluate products in terms of customer need

Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people including customers, suppliers, district and branch staff, and sales representatives

Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships

Frequent travel required

Pay Details:

The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $76,000.00 - 86,000.00 annually subject to increase based on experience. The position is also eligible for bonus incentives, based on specific and relevant business metrics.
