This role is hybrid with onsite expectations in Ann Arbor, MI. You will travel once per year domestically and occasionally you will work during early mornings, nights and weekends. Purpose:
As the Creative Director you will help align Ross's website, creative projects, and media plans with our integrated marketing strategy and brand identity. You will foster a positive, inclusive community by forming trusted partnerships across the school, developing impactful experiences, and taking ownership of outcomes. You will use your creativity, leadership, and technical skill to enhance our brand and engage diverse audiences, guiding creative strategy aligned with our school's mission. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and managing 8 direct reports; this role is critical in shaping Ross's marketing direction.

Responsibilities*
Strategic Creative Planning and Execution (70%)
Collaborate with the CMO, to develop a creative strategy that aligns with the strategic goals Lead the execution of the creative strategy and programs related to the development of marketing and advertising materials. (e.g., video, digital, print, email, direct mail, outdoor, brochures, newsletters, and websites).
Manage the talents of the creative team, and the external ad agency, to develop a creative strategy that enhances the school's reputation in the marketplace and meets the needs of important partners.
Partner with the brand and content teams to understand the goals, creative direction and target audiences.
Partner with the marketing research group to understand the effectiveness of several campaigns and recommend improvements.
Ensure that all creative materials produced are of the highest quality and represent brand image, message, and tone throughout the entire portfolio.
Remain current on and implement industry trends, technologies and best practices in design and visual storytelling.
Team Leadership (30%)
Provide positive leadership to the team; communicate vision and expectations; ensure the team has necessary skills, tools and information, and remove barriers to success; provide opportunities for professional growth through ongoing performance feedback, coaching and skill development; and recruit new team members.
Empower employees to identify approaches to enhance organizational performance.
Support development of the annual budget and maintain spending within budget while achieving overall and client goals.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in art or graphic design, advertising, marketing, or related field.
8+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, and professional design, with progressively more responsibility at a medium-sized or large organization.
3+ years of experience in a creative leadership position managing a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated expertise in advertising across traditional media, digital, mobile, social, and emerging platforms.
Additional Information
The general salary range for this position is $110,000-$122,000. You can expect to be paid a great compensation package. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor alignment and transparency throughout the recruiting process. Selected candidates whose start date is 4/1/2024 or after, will not be eligible for the university FY24-25 salary/merit plan unless otherwise notified.
