Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Developer Advocate (DA) to join the Developer Experience organization, focusing on creating engaging technical video content. As a practitioner, a customer zero, and a hands-on user of some of the most exciting AWS services, you will experiment with technology on AWS to solving top developer use cases, while showing the world what is possible through creative and approachable videos. You will engage AWS and non-AWS communities, drive our efforts in this fast-evolving field, and dive deeper in AI-assisted development, developer productivity, practical application of LLMs, building agentic systems, and more. In this role, you will work with a wide range of partners from Developer Experience team and Marketing teams to share the value with developers through video content in an authentic way.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

As an AWS Developer Advocate focusing on video content, your role is to champion innovation and inspire developers worldwide through video. You'll be deeply involved with cutting-edge use cases and AWS services bringing the possibilities of GenAI into life, and sharing these stories through video.

On any given day, you might be in the studio recording creative videos that show how GenAI can improve development. You'll produce engaging tutorials, deep dives, and interviews that explore innovative use cases and demonstrate the capabilities of AWS technologies.

As a bridge between the developer community and Amazon's engineers, you'll gather insights through video, helping to shape the future of Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q Developers, and other services. Your technical expertise and creative storytelling will helps developers understand and use this technology effectively.

You’ll also create concise, technical short-form videos that clearly explain complex concepts, making them accessible to everyone. Your content will inspire developers to explore new possibilities and effectively apply these technologies.

The Developer Experience team aims at showing what the future of development looks like so developers can move towards it. Our goal is inspire developers around the world. We show them how to practically use the new technologies to build efficiently in the cloud. We show them new things they are now able to achieve, both in tackling more complex cloud problems and new solutions that leverage GenAI in their project. We earn trust with developers by being authentic, and practitioners ourselves. We are on an exciting journey together, and not everything is solved yet.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

Experience with engaging video content creation on technical topics on YouTube, Instagram or similar

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective, data science, machine learning, or data engineering

Ability to write and present content to a technical audience

Demonstrable presence on social and technical channels such as GitHub, StackOverflow, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, or similar.

Track record engaging with developer communities.

Examples of high-quality and engaging technical video content.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
