Job Description:

McDonald’s is on an exciting journey to transform our Enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI (EDAA) function and turn our data into a winning advantage for the system. We are seeking a Communications Lead who will be responsible for overseeing all EDAA program communications that will create compelling narratives that inspire teams within and outside the EDAA function. This individual will work cross-functionally to craft the transformation story, develop the communication strategy, develop executive level communications, and distill complex concepts into clear and concise messages. In addition, they will define communication stakeholders and personas, tailoring messages to each group.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a communication strategy aligned with EDAA program objectives including key messages and channels to drive understanding and engagement

Build narratives to tell the transformation story to various personas at various stages throughout the transformation program

Tailor key communications and messages to different audiences across McDonald’s markets and functions

Distill complex data, analytics, and AI topics into simple key messages that can be digested by various collaborators

Work alongside leadership to develop an internal communications plan to provide visibility to the affected areas of the business

Collaborate on executive communications to McDonald’s senior leaders to overview transformation goals, progress, and outcomes

Develop narratives that influence teams and garner support for key initiatives

Develop clear and concise documentation by leveraging industry standards and guidelines and McDonald’s best practices and existing narratives

Assesses communications activities and their effectiveness to find opportunities for enhancement

Provide regular reporting on the status of various communications activities

Act as primary editor for all EDAA Modernization communications

Ensures alignment of EDAA communication strategies and plans with Corporate Communications strategies, initiatives, and standards

Qualifications:

Extensive Communications experience

Experienced knowledge of communication practices and techniques

Executive presentation skills; able to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to storyboard and express ideas clearly and concisely using a mix of data and qualitative insights

Exceptional PowerPoint skills

Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audience

Exposure to cross functional programs and ability to work successfully in a matrixed environment

Ability to develop / maintain strong business relationships

Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

Attention on details and clear, concise communications

Proven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into communications

Prior experience working in a data, analytics, or digital focused teams, a general understanding of Data and AI activities, and prior experience working within transformation projects is preferred

Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field

Education Preferred

Master’s degree in Communications or related field preferred

Experience Required

Eight years minimum experience in communications required
